Borgata has been tier matching for years now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they ever stopped. Before they went MLIFE, I always just went with my TR 7* and got the Borgata Black card. I went with several friends since they went MLIFE and they were able to get upgraded to MLIFE Plat/Gold from TR Diamond/Plat even if they were a member already. With the current competition and fight for players, I don't see them stopping the tier matches any time soon.

I have a friend who became Pearl due to the credit card, and his wife also became Pearl because their accounts were linked. So, I would assume it would be the same for the tier matches.

    Thanks!

    * After taking another look at the Borgata website, it may be worth it to try for anyone heading to AC. I think it might just work, and anyone is who not a brand new member just won't get the complimentary room and $100 slot dollars.

You're right - the datapoint I was thinking about was at http://statusmatcher.com/report/58134 , not on the reddit thread. I read it previously as him matching at _any_ Mlife desk, but within the context of this thread he likely matched at the Borgata.

That is an interesting link, except that the guy who posted it says at the end that he "pulled out $5-$10 and tipped the mLife desk" for doing the status match. WHAT??? I have never, ever seen anyone tip anyone at an MLife desk. For what??? Status matching is according to current corporate policy, not the whim of an individual player's desk employee!

    Stamello,

    Welcome to VMB!

This looks like something Wyndham just started this month, and it looks like a very good find. Congratulations on getting it to work, and thanks very much for sharing!!!

It is very interesting that Wyndham is matching to diamond from a number of other club status levels that can be obtained through a credit card, but Wyndham does not have a credit card that gives diamond status. The matched Wyndham diamond status is good for a 90 day trial (probationary) period where the member then needs to make a lot of stays at Wyndham hotels to keep the status past the trial period.

Do you know if your CET diamond status is good until the end of this year based on the CET's calendar, or if its only good as long as your trial is (which are probably pretty close.)

I wonder if this offer will be available in early 2019, and if a Wyndham trial period at the begining of the year will status match to CET Diamond for the entire 2019...

My CET diamond status is good through January 31, and my Wyndham status is good through January 6. However, note that the status matching goes both ways, so my plan is to wait until my Wyndham status expires on January 7, then re-match it back to diamond from my CET status. Then on February 1 after my CET status expires I'll match it back to diamond from my Wyndham status... and so on. So the trick is to make sure they expire sometime apart to make sure that you can continually match back and forth.

Planet Hollywood would be the wrong choice for running in to get a card. First you would have to go up the escalators and the cross the casino floor to get to the TR desk all while your Uber/Lyft driver is getting harassed for dropping you off in the valet line. Cromwell would be the easiest to get in and out with the least hassle.
