Just a few random thoughts about my recent trip to Vegas........I would like to thank everyone for all their info, it sure came in handy. I will list my new adventures (learned on this and the "other" Vegas board.
1. Checked into Flamingo at the airport, excelent service, great room, saved a ton of lineup time.
2. Took a shuttle to the hotel, again great service and saved some money.
3. Had steak special at Ellis Island, honestly one of the best steaks I have ever had.
4. Had a .99 cent Marg at the Westward Ho, again a great bargain.
5. Took the shuttle from Barbary Coast to Rio, Gold Coast , Palms Area. very easy and they ran all the time
6. Saw Big Elvis at the Barbary, an experience I won't soon forget, the audience participation and his voice were awesome!!
7. While waiting for a cab to take us back to the arport, the Flamingo employee announced that there was a "bus" leaving for the airport, the bus turned out to be a limo, the charge was $6.00 each and the first experience for me.
I was in Vegas to celebrate my 40th birthday with my Mom. This was our 6th or 7th trip and by far our best. We giggled, drank beer, played video poker, and sat by the pool, which felt so good after our long Canadian winter. In fact there was a freak snowstorm in Winnipeg (our hometown) while we were away. The info I received on this forum was invaluable, I am so glad there are other people who love Vegas like we do and are happy to share their info. We are already planning our next trip, maybe My husband can manage a convention that I can tag along to. One last thing, on my way out the door at the Barbary Coast, I hit the royal flush an a progressive nickel machine, for a big win of $615.13, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but it sure topped of the adventure.
Please ask, if you have any questions, I would be happy to help........Cheers!!
