So I went down to Tunica the other day and made a big parlay wager for the 1st weekend of college football. On my ticket the machine spit out Wake Forest +6.5...which I know is wrong but didn't catch it when they printed it out. Do I just roll with it or is that something I should bring up to the sports book?

At this point you're on the hook, afaik. Every sports book in Vegas has a sign says to check tickets before leaving iirc. I don't make many sports bets, but I've had to make them change one once while I double checked the ticket as I walked away.

And digging a bit more it looks like this is an error in your favor??? If you feel like turning your ticket in for a refund out of the kindness of your heart, they probably would refund it. But if you leave it as is, I would expect them to honor their screw up if WF wins or loses by 6 or less.

Now the greedy "advantage player" in me would consider going back to Tunica and betting more on that game if it's still set that way. But you also don't want to create too much attention to yourself. Did you happen to see if it said Wake +6.5 on the electronic boards or just on the ticket?

Oh trust me..I'm looking at this as an error in my favor for sure, The thing in my mind is will they accept it once the game ends and lets say WF takes an L by 3 and I go to cash the ticket in and they won't take it......BUT if my ticket says WF +6.5 I would believe that would have to honor it.

Looking back I took a picture of the college football sheet the first day Gold Strike was open and the sheet says WF -7 so I'm not sure where the error came from.

I'm not against this at all...I just hope they honor the ticket.

The WORST thing they should do is call that leg a push and let you win the lower parlay if it wins. But it's doubtful they even do that.

If they would dare void the whole bet because of their error, I would get the gaming commission on the phone.

The "line" for games can change from the time you read the spread from their board or sheet to the time you actually make the bet, hence always check your ticket.... but, I think the sportsbook at Tunica, being "new", probably F'ed-up... WF went from -7 to + 6.5 v. TUL....wow, you lucked out.

Could that be a "Teaser" Line?

If it was a teaser that somehow got that many points, you would see that reflected in the payout.

With parlaying spread bets a 2 team should pay around $360 for a $100 bet.
    A 3 team parlay should pay around $750 for a $100 bet.

He didn't post the payout, that's why I asked! :peace:

I doubt they honor that if it's an error. Same with a slot machine voiding all pays on machine malfunction.

Unless they had a huge liability from the error, I don’t think they would try to weasel out of it. It’s not worth the liability from the gaming commission or the bad PR. Chalk it up to growing pains from starting a new book.

As for the line error, I would think it would have been corrected pretty quick once it was discovered. Someone got their ass chewed out for it probably.

In practice, malfunctions are not always voided on machines. I've heard several stories of people getting paid on dealt four of a kinds when the machine failed to hold all the cards. It can be bad business if they don't payoff. And they could get in trouble with the gaming commission if they don't here. Remember that this is THEIR fault.

I really hope OP wins the parlay due to the error, so we hear what happens. Haha
