Trips to Las Vegas

After last year’s events (click here), mom and I decided to ditch the rest of the family and go to Vegas on our own! And so, my 10th and final trip of the year was set for the week of xmas. We decided to drive to Vegas and arrive on a Saturday. We booked Bally’s as that is where we got the best deal for 3 nights. Our goal this trip was to relax and go see shows…actually, we ended up seeing a show each night: Jersey Boys, Mystere and Mamma Mia.

A couple of weeks before this trip, I found out that some of the other board members would also be in town during this time, 3 of which I was able to hang out with: Marty, Bizzy and Scott, including the always Drea and Baby Cougar; even Tonya made an appearance. All week Drea kept asking what we were gonna do, what should she wear, blah blah blah! In the end, we decided we should do a lounge/bar on Saturday night and dinner on Sunday. After Jersey Boys, I met up with the group at Parasol Down @ Wynn. We had some yummy drinks and then decided to go to Blush.

Once we got over Blush, we decided that the next obvious trek would be to downtown for some H&H action. Part of the reason is we wanted Bizzy to go there as he had never been, nor do I think he will return either :evillaugh As soon as we arrived, Bizzy’s expression was priceless! I don’t think he ever quite got the meaning of being “country†until he stepped inside. Either way, it seemed he had a good enough time. After a while, we all got hungry and decided to go to Peppermill! The food was yummy, and so was my Bloodymary. We re-capped on the night, commented on Bizzy’s big butt, and finally called it a night!

When I got back to the room, my mom was still up waiting for me, or rather, couldn’t go to sleep because she still worried about me….oy vei! Anyway, the next morning, I took my mom to Ellis Island for breakfast as she had never been there. She didn’t really like it, but I thought it was excellent, as always. After this, we went to Hard Rock so that I could go check-in and pick up my tickets from D, who did me a huge favor in buying our Mystere tickets for that night :blowkiss: My mom gambled, as did I, and of course, she won! It seemed to be the theme of the weekend, her winning and me losing, but it’s ok, she shared :evillaugh We went back to Bally’s so that we could get ready for the dinner and show. Our plans were set for dinner at Eiffel Tower with Marty and Haidy (Bizzy and D flaked out), and then the show afterwards. Dinner was fabulous…great food and great friends. Thanks Marty!!! :nworthy: Haidy did us a favor in dropping us off at TI for the show, and as we were walking, she couldn’t stop raving about how nice Beyotch was….such a gentleman, and funny, and tall! LOL The show was good, but I have been to far too many cirque shows that I got bored towards the end. We played for a little bit at TI and then headed back to the room. I should say, I headed back to the room and my mom stayed up gambling!

Dinner Time

Monday was a day for shopping and rest. We ordered some room service for breakfast, which was really good, got ready, and headed over to Bellagio and Caesar’s Palace for some shopping. Once we were done with that, I needed a nap so I left my mom playing some slot machine and I went back to the room. On our final night, we had tickets for Mamma Mia. My mom absolutely loved it and the front row seats were perfect. The guy who played Sam was unbelievably hot, so much so, that even my mom was like, oh yeah, he’s handsome!! By the time the show ended, both of us were starving, and where do you go for a late night meal? Peppermill!! Again, she had never been, but unlike EI, she loved Peppermill. We ate, and then we were going to drop by Encore afterward, but they had all the streets blocked and I couldn’t figure out how to get in the parking lot/ valet, so we decided to just go back to the hotel. We stayed up playing slots, and I sent Mike a text apologizing for not being able to meet up with him. Had I realized my phone was on silent, I would have gotten his text that same night rather than in the morning telling me join them at Encore! :grrr: Oh well, I’m sure it was a great opening and I will eventually stay there….hopefully sooner rather than later.

We packed our bags, checked out, and were on our way back home. All in all, it was a nice trip b/c I was able to see my friends and spend some quality time with mommy dearest. BTW, Jersey Boys was phenomenal! I mean, it was great! Oh, and she already said we are going again next year :D
