Nice write up. 2:15 though for Reba/Brooks & Dunn? Damn that's long...

    Day Two

I woke up at 5AM and got on the road by 5:30. IMHO, the drive was, as you would expect, very boring until I got to the outskirts of Phoenix, where the traffic slowed down due to "Sunday drivers" and road work.

Harrahs Ak-Chin casino is 45 minutes south of Phoenix airport. It is a very small casino, and size-wise I would compare it to Harrahs Gulf Coast in Biloxi. Took out $300 in FP. They have closed whatever loopholes there were and you can no longer accumulate TC on FP. So, I made $150 cash on the $300 FP and made the 25TC, it only cost me $50. More cash to "seed" my activities at Laughlin

Had a "free" lunch at the buffet. 7* members get two free buffets at Ak-chin and Harrahs SoCal, where I will be going in March. Standard buffet fare.

    Ak-chin_lunch.jpg

On the road to Laughlin. It was an hour's drive less, but still long and boring nonetheless. Judging from the traffic on I-10, I think my decision to go this weekend instead of the SoCal weekend was a wise one. NV-93 is relatively empty, but I-10 is substantially busy. Oh well, no matter, job accomplished.

I got to Laughlin at 4PM local time and started with the $250 from Ak-chin well, I picked a bad machine and barely made 75TC on $250.

I went to the TR desk and took out the day's remaining $200 in Free Play. I managed to make 100TC on my card with the remaining $200, so no blood, no foul. I'm still about $1100 up.

Drove back to Las Vegas, and made an appointment to meet up with a LV buddy to pick up my Marilyn Monroe $300 SS

Walked to the Cromwell to start making badges, and decided that I would put in more play where I had the most success.

    The Linq - won $10
    Flamingo - lost $50
    Cromwell - lost $100
    didn't play at Harrahs

Had dinner at center cut steakhouse and visited with my favorite waitress. Had Oysters, Prime Rib and corn

    Ccut_PrimeRib.jpg
    Ccut_corn.jpg

    Dinner was $68.

Told my waitress friend that I would be by tomorrow to leave something off for her. She let me know that her diet has changed and she "can't" eat milk chocolate anymore. Last trip I gave her a box of Jinju Chocolates) I told her that I would find an alternate gift for her.

Dinner was slow, and I made it out to my buddy's house about 15 minutes late. He gave me the $300 strike, we chit chatted for a little bit, and I told him that I had to run, since I had been up since 5AM and driving most of the day.

    MM_300.jpg

Decided to go to Palazzo and check on:

    1) Whether or not they had restocked $300 SS
    2) If the Year of the Rooster blue caps were in the SS machine

When I got there, the machine was occupied by three Asian women, and rather than "camp out", I went elsewhere. I did, however, determine that there were blue caps in the machine and near the bottom or the turret.

However, in the idle time, I dropped about $300.

I found out that they do have $300 strikes again and have 8 back in the room.

Eventually, I got on the machine, and put in about $350, and ended up with 28 strikes, 25 clear caps, 1 red cap and 2 Year of the Rooster blue caps. Left at about 12:30AM

    BlueCap.jpg
    redcap.jpg

    I went over to a Wonder 4 with the $19 remaining from the $350 and retirggered 20 free games. In the bonus I hit 4 K x 24 (x3) , so 7.50 x 24, and scored $300 back.

So, almost everything on my list is done. I'm still "up" about $400, but $300 of that is in the form of a $300 SS and 2 blue caps and 1 red cap.

    But, up is up.

    Tomorrow . . .

Go to the Four Queens and pay off a small marker from my last Silver Strike run.

Lunch at V/P with one of my Silver Strike buddies.

Get my $300 SS from V/P

Get the remaining CET badges (Ballys, PH, paris, Caesars Palace, and Rio)

    Day 3.

Woke up at 5AM and started writing the TR. When I got done with the first day and put it up, I decided to go out at 6AM.

Started at Bellagio, to convert my $500 in FP and "maybe" finish off "Gold".

Made $850 out of the $500 FP at Bellagio.

Hit on a $.05 Dragon Gold machine after getting the bonus

    bellagio_850.jpg

Decided to leave after that instead of pushing on to make Gold, since that win brought me back up a little more.

Went over to Rio. Parked in self park since it was early enough that the lot wasn't crowded. Put in 205 TC and nothing special happened, but I did find a game that I don't like . . . The Walking Dead. Enuff said, and it was about 7AM, so I cruised on over to Target to pick up something for Jenny, and thank you cards for my hosts.

Went downtown to QQQQ to pay off a marker (from the Silver Strike trip) and eat breakfast at Magnolia's (comp)

Chicken Fried steak with two eggs over easy.

    chickenfriedsteak.jpg

Very good and for the price I paid (comp), and my parking was validated.

Went to Target to buy a "non-dairy" gift for Jenny. The Target was way out there, which gave me time to sightsee a little. Bought some thank you cards and other miscellaneous stuff.

Done at Target at 8:30 and drove back to Harrahs. I was getting tired, so I took a quick nap before lunch.

After my nap, at Harrahs, I dropped about $250 in a Weird, Wicked, and Wild machine, made back a little on a three reel machine went back to Ruby Star and hit for the bonus, making a little back.

Then I saw a Stinkin' Rich machine. I checked it out, it was 100 lines, maximum 10x bet, so $10 a pull max. I decided that since I was back a little, I'll play 10 sims at $10 each and see where it goes.

I got the bonus 20 spins, and retriggered for another twenty. Now anyone who plays this machine understands that it is high volatility, in a twenty spin bonus, you may only get paying combinations an five spins, but those spins could be AWESOME, as it was with my 39th bonus spin.

    stinkinRich_bonus.jpg

Not a hand pay, but close enough.

I calculate that I am about $500 up after expenses and not counting the $300 SS I would be getting at V/P later today. This morning has been an excellent turnaround. I am standing at 460 TC and (or is that "but") haven't played at 4 of the CET casinos yet.

I should be able to make 1000TC today with no problem. Time for a nap before lunch.

Woke up at 10:30, made up my gifts, and decided to go over to V/P early and play for the last blue/red SS. I redeemed $200 in FP and sat down to the nearly depleted SS machine. A woman I had met the previous night sat down in the same place that she had sat the previous night. We chit chatted until my buddy came. In the meantime, I "educated" someone on Silver Strikes who thought all of them were silver. I explained that only the $300 and the red cap were silver. He didn't have a red cap and I had a spare and I offered to trade him 1 for 3 clears (the going rate). He agreed.

I'm went over to V/P early and take $200 in FP and play the silver strike machine to try for one more YOTR (Year of the Rooster) blue cap) and exchange clears for my $300.

My friend showed up and we ate at the Hong Kong Cafe, sorry, no pictures but the food was excellent.

    Pot stickers
    Crispy Fried Chicken Wings
BBQ Plate (Duck, BBQ pork, pork belly)
    Rice

Total was $78.00, and I took it out of my comp balance. My friend paid the tip. I then gave him the remainder of the Harrahs amenity. (water and soft drinks)

We separated and I went to pick up my $300 strike.

<oops, no picture, I'll take one when I get home, cuz everything's already packed>

Then went over to Caesars to do QFR and drop off the host presents.

Parked at the Flamingo valet and the wind was "howlin", told the valets that I would be there for less than an hour.

Went inside dropped off the host gifts at the host office. (neither my host or the substitute were there), and took our a small ($500) marker.

I played Buffalo Grand and got the bonus 3 times, but they were all minis, but I did make about $200 on that machine. I then proceeded over to a "new" 3D WOF machine, and hit the minor jackpot about $252.00

    WOF_1.jpg WOF_2.jpg

Spun again, and what do you know? Hit the minor jackpot again!!!!

    WOF_3.jpg WOF_4.jpg

Went over to the cashier's cage and tipped the cashier who wrote the marker $15.00 and told her I'd be back later to buy back the marker. Left CP after making 212 points. Cruisin' to 1000TC.

From there, went over to Paris. I parked at Paris and would walk to Bally's, and then drive. I was scheduled to meet another VMBer after 4PM at Paris.

At Ballys, I hit 7 blue sevens on a three reeler in the High Limit slot pit for $480 and left after 100TC up $300.

Sat at Paris and hit for $300 on a back of Progressive $1 machines.

    Paris_300.jpg

Sat at an Incredible Technologies "Money Roll" slot,

    https://gaming.itsgames.com/games/money-roll

lost about $50, but the play was long and I racked up a fair amount of TCs, and left Paris at about 4:30, with 298TC and up another $3-400. (I'm losing track now because I'm up and not randomly throwing money at machines)

Since my legs were getting tired, (What can I say, I'm kinda old), I decide to drive to PH and then back to Harrahs. I still need to give my gift to Jenny, and meet with the VMBer and go to Goorin's to get a new hat.

Went to PH, and put in a quick 25TC, and then left.

Had to go by CP to pay off the marker, which I did, then back to Harrahs. I figured that since I was up (a lot) I would treat myself to a nice meal that wasn't at CET.

I decided on Emeril's after I met with the VMBer. He texted me and asked if I could still meet. SInce I had to go to Flamingo, and Center Cut was right next door to the Diamond Lounge, I suggested the Diamond longe at 6:45PM.

I made it over and after dropping off the gift (Jenny was working) I got seated at the Diamond Lounge at about 6:30PM. Hot food was gone, so IO made myself a salad since I was "starving".

Met with VMB member "phantomfj". It was a good meeting, he shared with me his location and the trials and tribulations of him getting to Las Vegas. It turns out that he is here for the same GGWU event as me.

We talked for about an hour and we parted ways. I decided to go to MGM since I stupidly bought a 24 hour monorail pass the night before and hadn't used it yet. As it is the walk to the Flamingo monorail stop is waaaayyy in the back of the Flamingo, and I walked back to the monorail stop. The good thing is that at MGM Grand, many of the restaurants are near the monorail stop, so iot was a short walk to Emerial.

Not feeling very hungry, I ordered 4 appetizers,

Oysters Kuuwei, from the Pacific Northwest
    kuuweiOysters.jpg
Salmon foam (not on the menu)
    salmonfoam.jpg
    Wild and cultivated muchroom Risotto
    Emerils_Risotto.jpg
    Creamed Spinach
    CreamedSpinach.jpg
    Tactical note #1
As I got set to pay, I got bad news . . . . Emeril's is one of two (or three) restaurants at MGM Grand that isn't owned by MGM, and they don't take MGM gift cards (I have $700 worth), or give MGM TCs. Oh well, I was up, so I didn't "mind" paying. Paid and made it back to the monorail, and took the monorail back to Harrahs.

    Tactical note #2
If you're on foot and have a decision to stay at Harrahs or Flamingo, consider that the monorail stop at Harrahs is very (well, relative to Flamingo) close to the Carvival Tower, in fact, the Diamond Lounge is also very close to the Carnival Tower, and it's making me consider changing my April reservation from Flamino to Harrahs.

Watched my movie "Passenger" starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. Need to make it a point to watch at least one movie every trip

As it turns out, I didn't need the Maker's Mark.

Too sleepy to finish the movie so I'll finish it in the morning, and put the Maker's Mark in my suitcase.

The summary is that I was up about $1900 in cash and hard goods after expenses (host gifts, meals out of pocket, etc.) I'm sitting here waiting for the host desk to call me back to see if I can get charges taken off the back end, and I've already sent an email to my host.

Update: They haven't called back yet, so I left the charges on and sent an email to my host and hopefully he can take care of some of the charges.

So, I'm asking myself where to spend the next two hours before my plane leaves, and I'm thinking about Silver Sevens.

Update. Had the lunch buffet at Silver Sevens. $10.80 plus tip, and I HAD to try to pay for it with some slot play afterward. I lost between $5 and $10 dollars more.

All in all, it was a very good trip, I'm still up for the year.

Excellent, very nice results for you. Your trip almost sounds like work though with all of the scheduled badge and point collecting errands lol.

Awesome trip report! Glad that you are up for the year so far... May this trend continue. Nice win on the Stinkin Rich! Where was that machine located ? Did you ever confirm whether or not Thye took off the charge for the extra show ticket that your host booked for you?

The Stinkin' Rich machine was on the main aisle leading through the casino from the hotel lobby. I'm sorry that is a very vague description, but much of this trip was a blue thanks to the 12 hour day Sunday.

The hosts haven't called me back, so the charges are still "in play". I'll keep you informed.

Yes, but if you like either/both, it's well worth it. I was bound and determined to stay until Reba sang "Fancy". She came out in an outfit with short black skirt which I thought was really strange. As it turns out, it was a red dress and when she got to the line "Mama spent every last penny we had to buy me a dancin' dress, The dress was actually red, and she dropped the black skirt (which was pulled up double) and it turned into a red dress.

I wish I had known so I could have taken a picture/video of it.

Thanks for the TR. Too bad, I will be in vegas in April but by that time I figure most of the good strikes will be gone. But then I don't play that much anyway, I never turned in 30 (10?) clad strikes for the special strikes.

So, was the Marilyn strike in the machine or was that one of the "special" ones?

I wonder if the year of the rooster strikes will still be in the machines at the V/P by April. I may check the place out, especially since they are one of the few hotel casinos that have free parking (for now). Say, where are the strike machines in the V? I recall the strike machines at the P being against the wall near the entrance to the V/Sands expo.

Great trip report and it was pleasure meeting you on Saturday. Since you’re swinging single guy, I’ll let it slip that you admitted you have more than a musical interest in Reba; I’m sure you might have a lot of competition for her affections, but I think most girls would see you as pretty charming, all things considered. I’m glad you enjoyed the show. Hope we can meet again.

Sounds like you put some miles on in Vegas and Phoenix! Glad to hear you met all of your goals and still had extra money! That's fantastic! I love those SS you posted. I know nothing about them and have never seen them before. It looks like something I'd like to collect as well. I stay at V/P every trip, so where might I find this SS access? Sorry I have no idea how you get them. Lol Great TR DaiLun!

The Marilyn Monroe Silver Strike displayed was the $300. I posted pictures of the red/blue caps on my 1/31 TR. The $300s were exhausted within the hour. The friend that was picking mine up said that I got the LAST ONE. As far as reds and blues, there were still some in the machine as of yesterday (2/28/2017) but they were running out and I don't think there will by the time April rolls around.

The Silver Strike machines at V/P are:

    Palazzo
Machine #1: (1-line) is located in the main isle in front of the Juice Home.

    Venetian
Machine #1: (1-line) is located in front of the Food Court.

Look for blue caps, the YOTR strikes are blue caps. V/P is so "lame" at restocking their SS machines that there very well may be some in April.

Well, the only goal that I missed was validating that a purchase would equal Tier Credits at the particular property where you made the spend, but I am 99% sure that is the case.
