Trips to Las Vegas
30
October 21 is my wife's 50th birthday and we are flying in for a weekend in our favorite city. We have very simple plans and are focusing on gambling and just getting away for a few days.

I did buy her a .82 carat pair of diamond earrings. She puts up with me and deserves to be well treated.

We decided on dinner Thursday at Cafe Andreotti at Harrahs. Always good food at a moderate cost. Our casino host at Imperial Palace has comped our room and two tickets for the late show of Legends.

Friday will be the breakfast buffet at Bellagio. We have never eaten there and are looking forward to it. We are heading downtown Friday afternoon and are going to take in The Stars of the Strip at the Plaza and The Spirit of the King at Fitzgeralds. I have traded emails with Steve Connelly who impersonates Elvis at Fitzgeralds. He is going to sing a love ballad to my wife for her birthday. She is a big Elvis fan. Dinner will be at Redwood Bar and Grill at California.

Saturday will be breakfast buffet at Paris and a little shopping. Last year my wife bought a personalized Christmas stocking for our dog at a shop at Desert Passage. Our dog got out of our yard and was killed by a car last summer. My wife is going to try to find a personalized Christmas stocking for our new puppy. We are going to see Mac King at Harrahs Saturday afternoon. Dinner will be at The Seahouse at IP. Hopefully, we will have enough comp dollars on our IP card to pay for it.

We plan on playing lost of blackjack and look forward to the visits from the nice young ladies with cool beverages.

Mostly, I want the wonderful woman I have been married to for 28 years to know that I love her more at 50 than I did at 22 and that the best is yet to come!

You are a very wonderful person, she is so lucky to have you as a husband. Sounds so much like my husband and myself. I turned 50 in Sept and I must say I also have a loving and considerate husband. That makes at least 2 of you. Have a wonderful
time. Happy Birthday to your wife and may she find the right stocking for your new puppy.

"We plan on playing lost of blackjack..."

Sure it's a negative expectation game, Big Bob, but have a little faith!

The Elvis thing is a very cool plan. Granted, convincing an Elvis to sing "Love Me Tender" one more time is about as hard as convincing me I need another gin and tonic (or another trip to Vegas), but with the advance planning you will most certainly get your point across. Hope your trip goes well.

Al, That was a typo that got by me. It was supposed to be lots of blackjack. I just hope that wasn't one of those foreboding indications of what is about to happen!
