What kind of tip for uber from airport to CP? Haven't tried it yet so I don't know.
In December my Lyft to CP was $15 bucks.
Always taxi since I mainly stay at Ballys, an extra $5.00 Is not going to break me and the 11 times I have used a taxi never once was tunneled. Last summer used Super Shuttle for my trip to Gold Coast one stop at Ballys, which added a whole 8 minutes, after the 2 people were dropped off I was the only one in the shuttle.
Taxi as they are for the most part readily available and like Patripman says, $5 is not going to break the bank. Long hauled only once and when I called him on it, the driver said there would be no charge or, I could pay him what I wanted.
Usually a limo. I'm plat at V/P so a limo is part of my comps. I booked a limo last week to Caesars---it was $71. Limo was comped off backend.
Agree-its actually cheaper than cabfare to mid strip, minus the tip of course.
I always stay Downtown for 6 days at a time.
I take the WAX bus. One dollar to get Downtown. One dollar to get back to the airport. (Senior. Otherwise, two dollars each way).
Over 30 years I have done taxis, limos, Bell shuttle & rental cars. I’ve even driven 1200 miles from the Houston area to Downtown Las Vegas about 10 times.
And the winner is — the WAX !!!
We always reserve a limo. Vegas tradition. And also because we can. Great start to a Vegas trip.
We do the limo as well. We are in contact with the same driver every time. He always has cold beer for me and a bottle of cold bubbly for the wife. Hard to beat kicking off a visit like that. Cheers!
I use the bus because it works for me and have never had a problem. In the past used Bell and it was quite time consuming and for me a lot of first timers and they were so excited they couldn't stop talking about the casinos and whatever else would come to mind.
If I get in befor noon it’s unlikely to get in are room so I just shuttle
Please everyone, keep doing taxi and shuttle. Too many of you are starting to do uber/lyft and making it too crowded on 2M. It's delaying my arrival to the hotel.
The shuttle and taxis are a great bargain. Don't waste your time with uber or lyft. Forget what I've said on previous posts. Thank you.
I prefer a rental car and avoid the Strip since I never stay there.
If I get in early like I did on Sunday at 11am then it’s no hurry because unlikely to get room that early so I just shuttle
Since we usually stay downtown or at Suncoast, our preferred method is the WAX bus. It's very relaxing. We check the schedule before we arrive but if we have to wait more than 15 minutes, we take a cab.
Uber/Lyft is out for us because I don't usually take my phone when we go to Vegas. We're from Canada and have to pay daily roaming fees but so long as my kids know how to reach me (I email them our hotel and phone # beforehand), I'm more than happy to leave the phone at home. Everything else can wait.
I’m with the Uber/ Lyft crowd. I have found the cost of ride share is significantly lower than taking a taxi. I don’t do buses even though the cost is dirt cheap. As far as transportation goes cost is not the only factor I consider. Buses are naturally the lowest cost option by far, however they are way too time consuming for me. I’m only their 4 days 3 nights I need to get where I’m going. Theirs money to loose !
I'm wondering why Uber/Lyft drivers never take Maryland Parkway to downtown... even when you ask them to take surface streets, it's always Paradise, with the jog over to LVB at Sahara .
I'm thinking of specifically asking my driver to take this route next next time.
To the strip? Taxi. For me it is not worth the slight inconvenience booking via app, hoofing to the ride share location, and searching for our car for a measly $4-5 in potential savings with Uber/Lyft.
Anywhere further, downtown, Summerlin etc.....ride share for sure.
But preferred? Hotel comped limo would be nice...still waiting for that call from the VIP desk....
Only time I use taxis in Vegas is from the Airport, after a 10 hr flight taxi is the nearest mode of transport.
If I am solo, I will use Bell from here on out. If I am with someone, Uber.
