It's About Time! Off to Vegas Sunday morning! 6:35am Flight out of Houston Hobby to San Antonio-8:50am Flight to Vegas-9:30am Vegas arrival. Staying @ the Orleans- $40 a night thru Thursday. I have not planned much, just want to take it easy. What I do have planned: 1. Comedy Stop @ the Trop 2. Bet on the Ponies 3. George Wallace 4. Mac King 5. Bet on the Ponies 6. Watch/Bet Baseball & Ponies @ CP Sports/Race Book 7. Find some .25/1.00 Elvis Slots (Need some help here Mikey et al) 8. Check out Spider Man 2 (Distraction from the casinos) 9. Bet on the Ponies 10. Poker lessons at Monte Carlo ??? Anyone know where I can get some fried catfish and/or fried shrimp on the strip? Buffets or restaurants....I know about Hoya's Boardwalk haunt for popcorn shrimp. and Big Al's @ The Orleans. No downtown forays this trip. I will stay and play downtown on the next trip. The point is to get away from people who know me and rowdy kids/teenagers! I teach school-need a break! Ideas/input welcome and appreciated!
Hey Moe-- Unfortunately, there are NO Elvis machines at the Orleans. Or at least there weren't in March. Probably gonna have to catch the shuttle over to the BC and lurk around Mid-Strip to find The King. Mikey
Thank you gentlemen(is that the correct word for you two?)! Mikey, I was just wondering if you had a preferred place on the strip to play the Elvis Slots. Thanks Baz!-I meet your weight requirement for food reviews, so I look forwrd to reviewing the places I eat.
I know you're gone now, but I'll second the NYNY Fulton St. fish market recommendation--my husband really likes their fish & chips (usually fresh fried so crisp, not too greasy or mushy) and I enjoy the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Not too sure about fried shrimp though (other than those yummy popcorn shrimp at Boardwalk)
