Well, I just confirmed my airline and hotel reservations. Flying AA from Hartford to Vegas, very short layover in Chicago. I will arrive in Las Vegas for the first time ever Friday morning around 10:30am. I am just about packed, just need to pack my everyday stuff on Thursday night. Thursday is going to be busy. I have to work until 5pm, then go home, finish up packing, then make a 45+ minute drive to Mom and Dad's house. It is Dad's birthday on Thursday, plus we have to drop the dog off, as they are babysitting their "grandchild" for the week. So, we leave Friday, arrive in Vegas at 10:30am, staying at Bally's (great deal on Expedia) for 5 nights. The reason we are heading out there is a wedding. A friend of my wife is getting married there and we were invited, so we decided to make it a nice vacation. They are getting married on Saturday night (hopefully I will still be able to catch the Tyson/Lewis fight, as well as the Belmont Stakes). My wife will be busy with the bride all day Saturday, so that will be my big gambling day. The rest of the week will be sightseeing, R&R by the pool, and more gambling, of course. Any last minute suggestions for a Vegas newbie? Expect a trip report soon after my return.
