Trips to Las Vegas

Only two weeks to go – and its killing me! Thought I would share my trip itinerary and ask for any comments/advice. This is our third trip since 2002.
One of my significant planning considerations is that for five of our days DH is in a class starting at 8:00 am til 3ish.

Day 1 (Thurs)– Arrive LAS 2ish from the east coast – so a long day. We only plan to rent a car one day for a side trip. This will be our first stay at the Aladdin. We are staying 8 nights and I decided to bite the bullet and reserve a Resort room rather than hope for the $20 trick.
The only plan for this night is to be at Red Square by 5pm for a place at the bar. We will christen the machines of course. And, most important, get our bets placed for football.
I don’t have dinner plans for this day yet??

Day 2 (Fri)– Commanders Palace for lunch
6:30 showing of Ka, seats 202 FF 1&2
Blue Agave for dinner with POV coupon – I’m thinking a cab is the best way to go?
I’ve never played Craps in a casino before. Today is the day!

Day 3 (Sat)– Lunch at Mon Ami Gabi – hopefully outside to catch the fountains. If the weather isn’t cooperative then I’ll have to come up with a plan B.
7:30 Vinnie Favorito at O’Sheas (w/241)
I don’t have dinner plans this day either. Does Sin City Brewery have TVs to catch the games?

Day 4 (Sat)– Heavy duty gambling day.
Lunch at Giorgio Caffe with Restaurant.com coupon
Dinner at Rosemary’s also with Restaurant.com coupon

Day 5 (Mon)– Shopping – maybe the Outlet mall but probably Desert Passage
Gambling – I have a few Free Play coupons. I have also never played Pai
Gow. I really want to give it a shot. Hopefully Monday will be a little slower in the casino. I also hope Aladdin table limits are more accommodating on Monday, otherwise I may have to take a walk somewhere else.
Dinner at Okada Sushi bar
7:30 Gordie Brown at the Venetian

Day 6 (Tues)– Spa in the morning. I usually go for a massage and facial. This time I am going for a body wrap and massage. I’ve never had the body wrap before – should be interesting.
Fab Four with free tickets
Dinner at Commander’s Palace w Restaurant.com coupon

Day 7 (Wed)– 2 pm showing of Menopause (I’ll be solo on this one). I'm thinking I can get tickets at the box office before the show?
Dinner at Andre’s with Restaurant.com coupon – I’m hoping to do the
Tasting menu, when I made the reservation I was told it should be no problem having the Tasting menu and making an 8 pm show - hmmm
La Femme – 8:00 show

Day 8 (Thurs)– Lunch at Aladdin Buffet – I just learned that as of Oct 25 it is back at its original location and hopefully living up to its past reputation. Have a freebie for this.
Rent a car and go to Red Rock Canyon – We should have about 4 hours
here I’m hoping.
Return to spend the evening downtown. We’ve never seen FSE. I want
to check out the Plaza because of its location it seems like it would have
a pretty cool view of the canopy. Dinner is planned at Roberta’s with a
POV coupon.

Day 9 – Depart 9:00 am flight

In terms of a brewery to watch the game, how about the Monte Carlo Brew Pub? Pretty good beer, pretty decent food, and pretty friendly bartenders. And plenty of tv's near the bar too.

It looks like you have a great trip planned, but I have couple of suggestions you may want to consider:

Day 2 - Friday - lunch at Commander's. I would recommend purchasing a $10 Commander's Palace gift certificate @ restaurant.com on 11/1. Also, you can call on Monday before you leave and find out what the 3-course luncheon special will be for that week. Since your trip overlaps two different menus, you have the flexibility to push off the date of your visit should you not like the first week's menu.

Day 2 - Friday - you plan on using the POV Palms 50% off coupon at Blue Agave. The coupon is only valid Su-Thu so you will need to redo the itinerary a little.

Day 6 - Tuesday - dinner at Commander's Palace. If you enjoy wine, you can bring in your own on Wednesdays and not incur a corkage charge.

Day 8 - Thursday - since you will be in the area I would recommend a stop at Red Rock Station. While downtown, you may want to tour Main Street Station - stop by the front desk for a brochure that lists all the antiques that adorn the casino. I would also stop by the Golden Nugget, I believe they are still offering $10 free play for new slot card sign-ups.

Sounds like a great trip. Make sure not to overplan. I find the best times are the impromptu ones. Day 7 (Wed)– 2 pm showing of Menopause, you will love this. I saw it at the Fox Theater in Detroit and laughed so hard my sides hurt after the show.

Great advice. Those lunch certificates are hard to come by. I had one in my basket around the first of October, got distracted and when I got back on the computer to seal the deal it was gone. My only concern is the certificate states, "Limit one (1) redemption per customer per month per restaurant." I wasn't sure how they'd really know but...

I missed the fine print on that one. Thanks
I think we will hit the Palms/Blue Agave early on our day of arrival. We'll be hungry after our travels anyway. It'll help with our vodka consumption later on.

Ah! The opportunity to save even more money. And, if I switch the CP and Andres reservations it will take care of my concern about rushing through dinner.

I had second thoughts about posting a "pre" trip report but I'm glad I did. I do appreciate all of the comments.
