    My Trip Report

so after last week's slaughtering, i'm headed back to the Beau this weekend and hoping for better luck. i'm going for the Champions Tour event at Fallen Oak. i'm going to watch the final round on Sunday at the course and the play in a $30k poker tournament on Sunday night and a $30k Pro-Am on monday. it's going to be a quick in and out trip with only about 2.5 days and much of that spent watching or playing golf.

all in all i know i'll have a great time on the course and i'm hoping for as good of a time at the tables. i'm taking a much smaller bankroll than normal after losing so much last weekend. so i'm going to start playing very small and hope to get a good run going and be able to start pressing my bets. if i can get ahead on the first night then i can be more liberal with my bets when playing with their money. at least they're going to give me an extra $2k in promo chips because of my loss last weekend, so that on top of my usual $1k for every trip should help me stretch things a little farther.

i'm taking my father in law this time instead of my wife because she just went last weekend and doesn't really care about watching golf anyway. so besides my usual suite, i got a connector for him. the weird thing about the Beau is all the connectors to the big suites have 2 double beds. the only connectors they have with King beds are connected to the smaller suites. doesn't make any sense to me, but ...

for food, we're planning on going to BR Prime on Saturday and Sunday nights and going to JIA (asian/sushi) on Monday night. we'll mostly stick with room service for breakfast and just pick up some snacks and such for lunch.

other than that, it will just be gambling. mostly Bacc with some BJ mixed in. i just practiced up on my BJ BS on wizardofodds.com and made a nice "winner" on his game so hopefully that's a sign of good things to come!

i'll try to post an update on saturday night or sunday and again on monday night or tuesday depending on how things go.

well i'm getting ready to head to the airport tomorrow morning. the disappointment of the last trip has worn off over the past 5 days and has been replaced with new excitement about this trip. funny how that can happen so quickly. on sunday the last place i wanted to be heading this weekend was back to the casino, but now i can't think of any place i'd rather be heading. :) this trip will be a bit of a whirlwind, but i'm looking forward to hitting the tables hard and getting my money back!

got in yesterday afternoon. flight was uneventful, although my golf clubs didnt end up showing up. turns out they put it on the next flight and delivered it to the hotel last night. i dont need them until tomorrow so thats fine.

after we got settled, i headed down to the casino and picked up where i left off last weekend. dropped a bunch quickly, but finally it leveled off and i got some of it back. BJ was terrible to me. i would start to make a little run 2 or 3 in a row and then i'd get a cold deck split/split/split/double and the dealer pulls a 4-5 card 20 or 21 to take all my bets and i'm back to even. just couldnt get over the hump and get ahead.

quit for dinner at BR Prime. had the crab and corn chowder to start which is always one of my favs and had the filet oscar style for my entre. it was amazing as always. had it all with a bottle of williams selyem pinot noir, which is one of my favs.

had the strawberry shortcake for desert which was amazing. paired it with a glass of 1990 sauturn, which if you like desert wine was out of this world. i had read about sauturns, but never had one before.

after dinner i headed back to the tables and basically just treaded water until bed. i'm heading to the golf course now to watch the final round of the golf tourney and then a poker tourney with the pros tonight. will post more later hopefully after having a great night at the tables!

How was the poker tourney, and more important, did you make a comeback at the tables?!
