    My Trip Report

I realize that this is little off topic but thought you might all enjoy it.

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, and I have a trip to Vegas booked for May 10-13 for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We decide that a little BJ tuneup wouldn't hurt and as Black Hawk is only a little over an hour away and has $5.00 BJ what the hell.

My husband doesn't like to play BJ so he usually plays quarter slots. We were able to get up there a little early for us (6:30 pm) on a saturday night. Seats at BJ are hard tpo come by but after we ate we went looking for a spot. My daughter find an open seat and gives it to me. I sit down and buy in and the guy next to me, who is playing two spots, asks my daughter if she would like to play and giver up one of his spots for her (VERY NICE). Not 10 minutes latter a guy at the other end of the table leaves and my son-in-law gets a seat. We are doing OK not great but pretty even and have been playing for about an hour or so. My husband wanders by and whispers in my son-in-laws ear and the both are smiling really big. He gets over to my side of the table and tells me that he has been playing one quarter in a 10x machine and almost down to the end of his first $20.00 he has hit for $1250.00. He gives me another $100.00 to play with in case I run low and says he is going to play a little more. Well another hour and a half pass and here comes my husband again with another big grin on his face. Seems this time he has won $1400.00. We play for a little while and decide since the kids have to get up in the morning and it is snowing to beat the band that we should probably head home.

Long story short! My husband walks away with about $2600.00 after playing quarter slots for about 4 hours. The other 3 of us walk away from BJ up a whopping $14 after the 4 hours. Altogether a very enjoyable evening. We may not have made a killing at BJ but anytime you walk away ahead it is a win!!! and it was definitely a win for my husband. He is putting the win in savingins so we will have even more money for our upcoming Vegas trip!!!! [IMG]

Hi Deb, nice report about Blackhawk; where were you playing?

I'm in Aurora and go up quite frequently (once or twice a month); usually hang out at the Lodge and the Riv but mostly for nickel VP! :D

I live in Westminster near Jeffco Airport. We were playing at Isle of Capri because I had coupons for their buffet. I usually play nickle or quarter vp as well because I can never get a seat at the BJ tables.

Very cool story Deb. I made my first trip to Blackhawk last year for my mom's 50th birthday over 4th of July weekend. It was a blast. I prefer the Mountain High Casino or the Lodge myself, and am thuroughly addicted to the "Streak BJ game" where you can bet the side be on how many hands you'll win in a row. Wish they had that in Vegas. [IMG]
