    My Trip Report

    Long time reader/1st time contributor....

Had a fabulous week in Vegas! Flew in on Sunday to register for the Plaza's Super-Bingo event.
This was our second time participating in the event and it's always fun. Plaza takes good care of it's Super-Bingo folks, with a fabulous room & Bingo package (W/No Resort Fees!). They offer a delicious continental breakfast both days of the tourney, free alcoholic drinks, soda, water, coffee/tea and provide box lunches to participants each day. We continued to play Regular Bingo at night in their Bingo room. Their Bingo staff are incredible and the friendliest in town! Slots were pretty loose at the Plaza as well. Great music in the casino, especially Thursday night where they had a great band come in and do some Motown greats--lots of people up and dancing! Love Plaza's rooftop pool as well. A great place to just enjoy the sun and take a dip!

We pre-ordered a rental car from airport rental site, and later decided we certainly didn't need a rental car for all the days we're there, so we cancelled the car. After the two-day Bingo tourney was over, I checked on-line and actually got a cheaper daily rate at the Plaza's on-site rental company SixT. Even better: the car is on-site, so no additional to trips to airport. So much more convenient!

Used the car to visit some of our old Vegas haunts like Ellis Island where the slots were pretty darn loose. Add in a couple of slices of pizza from on-site Metro Pizza, and a good time was had by all.

Also ventured off to a (new to us) family-type restaurant. Highly recommend Black Bear Diner. There's a couple of locations in Vegas. Just really good diner food with large portions and friendly wait staff! We really miss DuPars downtown, and I know there's another location in Vegas, but seriously Black Bear did NOT DISAPPOINT! Also made our customary trip to the Peppermill, where we met up with some family and had a great dinner!

Spent last two days at Golden Nugget and took advantage of a "no resort fee" special they had going on. Had a beautiful room and enjoyed the shark pool while we were there. Had a late night chili dog from Coney Island on Freemont Street. What seemed like a good, delicious idea at 2am did not play well the next day for me! Oh well, live and learn!

Utilized Las Vegas scooters as I have some mobility issues. They offer a great deal to rent scooters for abt $100 for a week (includes insurance.). I wouldn't have been able to do half of what I did without the use of a scooter. Worth EVERY Penny!

2 things I did notice from our last trip:
1). I know it's hot outside, but many casinos seemed warm vs. the typical cool temp I've experienced in the past. Hey Casinos--hot people don't gamble--they go upstairs to bed. Rev up your A/C in the casinos!

2). Our last visit, cannibis was already legal. But my goodness, so many new cannibis stores have been added--everywhere you turn! It was interesting to see the environment change just due to legalization. If you're visiting for the first time, get ready-- Eau D'Ganja is the new scent in elevators and hotel hallways. Lotsa puff, puff, pass going on!

All in all...I love me some Vegas! Can't wait for my next trip!
