I visited Harrahs Cherokee the weekend before last. Only offer was a comped room (I am 7-stars). I played and lost 17k over the one full day and about 2 hours of the next. I then asked my host if he would comp my Ruth’s Chris and breakfast bill totaling about $300. I didn’t think that was a huge request since no free-play or any other offers were offered and I lost a good amount. At any rate, he calls me and says “there’s a note on your account from Vegas saying you’re not a profitable player and the system wouldn’t allow me to comp anything off.” I was like whatever as the $400 isn’t that big of a deal anyway. I then checked with my Vegas host who she and I have a great relationship. She says “I don’t know what he’s talking about. There is no notation on your account. If you weren’t profitable, you wouldn’t be getting the offers that you are getting.” I forward this to my host back at Cherokee, and of course......crickets.

How do I go about getting another host? I don’t want to deal with anyone that lies to me, doesn’t send any offers, and frankly, he’s just not good at being a host.

That's insane. Your current Cherokee host seems like a complete sleeze.

I don't know about the property but you can change hosts. It's a PITA but it can be done. Email someone in senior management requesting a new one. With your status and play, they would be crazy to not make a change if you requested it.

Thanks, Flowers. Would I contact senior management in Cherokee or at corporate? I would think they just look after each other in Cherokee.

As a side note you may want to confirm how you are getting rated with the Pit. That may be hurting your comps

A little subtle reminder to management that many new and exciting casinos are going to be opening in the Cherokee area in the next few years could not hurt in your quest for a new host.

I only play VP so shouldn’t be an issue there.

besides, the more egregious issue is the lie.

i would write sr management, explain the situation, explain the lie is the most egregious part, and simply state you won’t be doing business with someone you don’t trust. Ask if there is someone else who can take care of you. If not be willing to “shop your play”.

I would say corporate but will look to others who know Cherokee to chime in. I'd get maybe a recommendation from your LV host.

I find it odd that Cherokee treats you that poorly. Cherokee was my primary location 3-4 years back when I lived down there, and they treated me better than any other CET property. My host was amazing there. So unless its gone south in the past couple years, you may have a bad host, or their could have been some glitch in the system. If what happened to you had been done to me I would reach out to Cherokee to confirm that there is a note on your account by emailing your host. If he responds back with an email saying there is a note from Vegas, then I'd forward that to your Vegas host and have her reach out to find out whats going on.

If you lost 17k in one day, I find it very hard to believe that you are not a profitable player. That's absolutely disgusting on their part and they should treat you better. Please let us know in about 3 months if/ when your free play offers hit your account. I bet you that you get some insanely good offers. They will want you back!

I did as you said, but in reverse. He said there was a notation saying I was unprofitable from Vegas. I then reached out to my host in Vegas and she said it wasn’t true, I then forwarded the email to him and he never responded; that tells me all I need to know.

I’m glad you have had great relationships with Cherokee, I just never have. Maybe luck of the draw with the hosts. My Caesars host knocks it out of the park and I wish all my other host were as helpful, and more importantly, as competent as she is.

Correct. And this doesn’t include what I lose in Vegas. I get great offers there and they allow me to stack two offers. Cherokee has never treated me particularly well. Even when I play a lot, I’ll go in the host office and ask for a dining credit. I’m LUCKY if they give me $200 after playing all day (and I play decent volume). It’s like pulling teeth to get them to do that and I really don’t know why?

My first trip to Caesars Las Vegas (maybe 3 years ago) at the end of my trip I walk into host office (didn’t have one at the time) and asked if they would take care of whatever they could. They looked and said “absolutely sir! We will just zero this out.” Last time I was there (last month) I got $2500 in free play AND my host gave me another 2k in cash a few days later. I went to the cage and the lady said “wow! They are giving you cash. We dont see that often.” My host said my play was “excellent,” yet in Cherokee, I can’t get a damn dinner comped lol.

For context the one day I played in Cherokee, I got 23k tier credits not including the bonus, so not like I’m playing light.

I visited Cherokee last fall and I think I lost about 10k. When I spoke to host they were offering very minimal comps. He told me they are different than most caesars properties due to the ownership being by the tribe rather than caesars corporate. He said his hands are pretty tied.

Thats crazy. Its completely the opposite experience for me. Cherokee always treated me better than Vegas. Could they have gotten that much worse since? I was always told they had more freedom because they weren't CET owned.

Maybe it was because I was considered a local when I used to play there, but the FP and comps weren't insanely good 3-4 years back. They'd send regular offers for like 200-300FP a day, and a seperate Seven Stars monthly mailer that had even more FP, Free RCs(20,000) for earning 1TC on Sundays, $150-$250 Food Credit, $250 Spa Credit. The other bonus was that you could charge tips to RCs on the bills, and Cash Advances there was no fee(literally no fee, not this refund it in FP crapola everywhere else). My host would comp off all my meals, and even sometimes sent a bottle of wine to my room(even though I wasn't a wine drinker, but its the thought). If NC was still my local and things were like before I wouldn't be considering leaving CET for another brand in Vegas.

Note: I didn't play anywhere near Attaboys level either

Those are the exact same offers I got about 2-3 years ago but haven’t gotten anything in quite some time. However, to be fair, I dont go that often anymore. Use to go maybe three times a year, now I might go once a year but I’m going again next week (promised my dad I’d go with him before the debacle). After that, I will no longer go. It takes me about 5 hours to get there, and for another two hours, I can get to Vegas so really not worth it with the lying and just no appreciation for my play.

Hmm, maybe Cherokee has gone to crap along with the rest. Though it seems Vegas is still treating you well, its not the case for me. Hope they keep it up for you, but I'm 99% done with CET. I'm getting $40 FP offers and while I don't play as much as some of you all I think my play warrants more than what they are now offering me(I usually go with a $2k/day or $10k/trip budget, and made 20K TCs last trip without bonuses).

I’m not even mad about them not comping anything. I’ve been fortunate enough in my business that I don’t need a free meal, free rooms, or any damn thing free from them. What pisses me off was the lie. I mean, how could this guy not have the common sense to think the first thing I would do is contact my Vegas host? Then, when I do and forwarded him the email with her response saying he was mistaken, he doesn’t bother to defend himself nor say it was a mistake on his part; he says nothing which to me, confirms his guilt.

I’m going next week with my dad and taking my friends card with me and I’ll get him 7-stars so he can join me in Vegas for the 7-stars trip.

I hear ya. Its just that my host there was amazing and they treated me well. I may not need free meals and such either, but I do like to get what I think i'm worth to them. I lose plenty to them every year for years and now they are like 'who are you? oh, little goldfish go wait over there behind the whales'.
