    My Trip Report

First trip report, don’t want to bore with too many details...but here’s the jist of it...
    Purpose:
2020 BCA National Championships @ Rio (Pool tournament)

    Lodgings:
3/11-3/13 @ Rio (Deluxe Suite, Ipanema Tower)
    3/13-3/16 @ Gold Coast (Premium)
3/16-3/18 @ Luxor (Tower Premium One Bdrm)
3/18-3/20 @ Palace Station (whatever they feel like giving me)

    Food:
    Sakana for AYCE sushi
Tiabi Waffle Bar for breakfast things
    Ping Pang Pong for Chinese
Palace Station Oyster Bar for Oyster Bar stuff
Whatever I can buy with my F&B credit at Luxor

    Gaming:
    Mostly slots
    Maybe some V/P
Might try craps & Baccarat (since I’ll be up there with a bunch of hardcore gamblers that can help me learn)

Currently in the Hawaiian Airlines Lounge. No food but seats are comfy & free drinks.

Forgot to take a pic of the pupper before I left, so here’s one from a few days ago:

I’ll try to post every day at least, so it may be mostly not live, but will definitely post as many pics as I can remember to take...

Thanks! I’m going to participate, 8-ball scotch doubles (bronze) & 8-ball singles. Wish me luck, I’ll need all I can get!
And thanks for reminding me to get Drip Drop. Forgot to pack

The meal service to LAX seems better than to LAS. Depending on how difficult it will be to get to the Delta terminal I might just fly up this way going forward...

Cool hope to see the inside take on the infamous Vegas pool tourney. I’d love to hear about all the side action bets that must go on during this. Bet pool players do Vegas right.

agree, would love to hear all the color from the pool angle.. are there really back room games where real money changes hands?

I don't believe confidence can negatively impact luck.

Two years later, Efren Reyes and Earl Strickland were chosen to face each other in an event called the Color of Money, named after the movie. The event was a three-day race-to-120 challenge match of 9-ball. It was held in Hong Kong, with a winner-take-all prize of US$100,000. Reyes won the match 120-117. The match demonstrated Reyes will to win, overcoming a 17 game deficit on the last day on the final 3 hours of the match. This was the largest single-winning purse in a pool event.[1]

Earl is playing the Diamond Open 9-ball today. Hoping to get to watch some of the pool pros play. Efren is freakin amazing. I have a few friends playing that tourney so they’ll know where the side games are

After $120 in various versions of Buffalo I finally got to the room. It’s actually pretty clean, temperature is comfortable, & very spacious.

Best win I had so far, lol

Last spin & $60 in I finally get the feature. Ended up getting 10 spins & won a whole lot of nothing ($4 & some change )

Had better luck after practice. Made back half of what I lost today, which is a win in my book, lol.

Had to make myself eat something before bed so went to the Sports Deli & got this giant Greek salad. Was very good, almost worth the $16.99 price tag

So nothing gambling-wise to report, aside from losing $100 at craps, another $100 at High Card Flush, and winning $50 at a $25 min baccarat table

My teammate & I won our first 2 matches, lost our 3rd, play again at Noon. Getting all my crap together to check out & go to Gold Coast. Not easy when you’re hungover...

Interesting. While I waited for my Dallas-MKE flight to depart on Tuesday, I saw several women boarding the Dallas-Vegas flight, each carrying pool cue cases. Now I know why. Good luck to you.
