Just curious. I typically buy 2% but will grab 1% if the shelf life is a few days longer. Tried the wife's almond once, did not dig it.

To drink a glass of milk - 1%
To make smoothies, protein shakes - almond milk. OK on cereal even. But I won't drink it straight.
Cook or bake - heavy cream or whole milk.

Milk of choice for what? I don't drink any milk. I buy the almond coconut milk for a lot of my cooking. I use real coconut milk when it's called for. For special foods where it matters, I use buttermilk or cream. My husband drinks milk & has cereal a few times a week for breakfast and we buy him skim for that. So I cannot answer the question as asked ;-)

I use oat milk. Before that I used almond milk or soy milk. But enjoy oat milk more.

I chose skim. It’s just what I grew up on, and I’ve never felt the need to change.

I will say though, I once visited a college friend in Iowa whose family ran a huge dairy farm. They would bring in fresh whole milk from milking and it was the best tasting milk I’ve ever had, basically straight from the teat (insert your own joke here).

Never liked milk as a beverage. I even ate cereal dry as a kid, other than cocoa krispies, which I ate with peanut butter.

I do make an outstanding vegan queso cheese using almond milk, cashews, almonds, etc. It bothers me they don’t sell it in smaller cartons like other shelf stable milk. I only need a cup. Found it that way at Whole Foods but it expires quickly so I end up throwing away even more.

I don’t drink enough milk to warrant buying it so when I do it’s hubby’s go-to. He is diabetic so he likes it because it has less (or maybe no?) sugar. Probably about twice the cost of regular milk, and it took some getting used to seeing an expiration date two months out, but it tastes okay to me. Considering we don’t ever need to dump expired milk now it probably ends up costing us about the same.

I like chocolate milk. I buy regular whole milk for cooking and for me and my grandson to make chocolate milk with the Hershey's sweet dark chocolate syrup.

We use the syrup also on ice cream and bananas.

Whole, but I only drink it in lattes. Used to be nonfat back in the 90's, when the fat free craze was the thing.

I'm lactose intolerant, so I have to be careful of my dairy intake. If I consume too much dairy at one sitting, I'll regret it after about an hour or so. LOL I normally buy Lactaid which is regular milk that has been pretreated with the enzyme Lactase to digest the lactose. It taste the same as regular milk so I can consume all that I want without the ill effects.

I also tried the non-dairy products like Almond milk and Soy milk which are okay when eating cereal, but not for drinking. LOL

The oldest boy has the same issues, and he has really enjoyed Fairlife. I’ve yet to try it but he swears there is no taste difference whatsoever between that and regular milk.

Seconding the lactose, I used to have a big glass of 2% every time I ordered breakfast in a restaurant in Vegas. Took me a while to figure it out because...well Vegas. Oat milk brought me back to cereal, switched to lactose free because my wife prefers the taste.

Ahh...Aka Bossie milk. We were driving by my work, and they asked me what was behind the grassy hill. I told them that’s where we kept Bossie, the brown cow. They said what’s so special about Bossie? Well that’s where we get our chocolate milk from. All 10 grandkids ask for it be name now....

In my opinion, milk comes from an animal. Almond/coconut and others aren't milk. They are milk substitutes.
