    PRESS RELEASE
Plaza Hotel & Casino to welcome summer with renovated rooftop pool suites, $25K in new pool deck resort style furnishings, and special events

LAS VEGAS – The fully renovated rooftop pool and recreation deck at the Plaza Hotel & Casino that opened July 4th weekend last year to rave reviews has even more to offer guests this summer with an additional $25,000 upgrade to its furnishings, a $300,000 renovation to five hotel suites with direct access to the pool deck, and various special events, including a Hawaiian Luau and the debut of “Plaza Pool Nights.”

Maintaining its “retro Palm Springs-meets classic downtown Las Vegas” inspired feel, the Pool at the Plaza upgraded its resort style furnishings for the 2017 pool season, including adding cocktail side tables beside its lounge chairs, new wet deck lounge chairs and more dining tables, chairs and umbrellas. All six day beds were re-upholstered with a vibrant green fabric.

The Plaza has five hotel suites that open directly onto the pool deck, offering guests an exclusive amenity during their stay. A complete renovation brings the pool’s vintage Palms Springs feel inside the suites with décor that mixes contemporary and mid-century furnishings. Taking inspiration from the pool and the outdoor space’s materials and color palette, the renovated suites incorporate warm wood tones and mixed metals with bold colors and graphics.

The suites also feature custom cabinetry, new floorings, custom lighting fixtures and casual, relaxing furnishings with luxurious touches throughout. Bathrooms are completely upgraded with custom vanities, quartz counters and a special blend of dimensional and glass mosaic tiles to give the bathroom the ultimate vacation feel. Beginning at the end of May and starting at $200 per night, the suites can be booked for summer stays online at https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/reservations/.

This summer, the Pool at the Plaza is home to various entertainment and special events. The schedule of events kicks off on Saturday, May 20 at 7 p.m. with a special luau beach party featuring live entertainment and authentic Hawaiian food and drinks. Tickets are $40 (including taxes and gratuity) and available online at http://www.plazahotelcasino.com/entertainment/luau-beach-party/.

Every Saturday night this summer beginning May 6, the Plaza will host “Plaza Pool Nights,” a free night swim party with a DJ and drink and food specials from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

And to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday and one-year anniversary of the Pool at the Plaza, the property will again host a special rooftop party and live fireworks show. More details on events and amenities at the Pool at the Plaza this summer are available online.

I never stay downtown, but I'd book the pool suite for a weekend just to check it out and hang with my local LV friends who prefer downtown. I'm trying to find the room photos? The suites they are showing me online are not really suites and not connected to pool, so I must be looking at wrong one. Was thinking I'd book it for EDC weekend for something different.

I know a few people who have stayed in the poolside rooms in the last year and at that time they said they were just normal rooms, with the private courtyard that opened onto the pool. I "think" there were only two or three initially.

It sounds like they have added a few more and that they have been renovated, I can't locate any photos yet either.

Now if only they'd invest some money into getting rid of the awful smell.

Is the pool opening in May, or is the pool itself open now?

Blonde, are you familiar with the availability of chairs? is it easy to get a chair? are most of them reserved for rental like they are at the Grand? the Grand has dozens of empty chairs that they want you to pay for. 95% of them go unused.

" $18.00 daily resort fee includes: self/valet parking; in-room wireless internet; local and 800 in-room telephone calls; 2 bottles of water; fitness center admission; airline boarding pass printing (up to 2 per room); and Plaza Perks (our hotel coupon book valued over $300.00)."
is there anything worth while in the coupon book?
I have never stayed at the Plaza, nor have I played there much. I am needing one night in May. the rate calendar shows $49.50 + 18.00 resort fee + tax. i can stay at other places cheaper but I kind of want to give it a try. that is a bit much for a weeknight downtown. I am sure that I have not given them enough play to be rated. I need a little more convincing.

I know that Blonde IS a fan of the Plaza. I don't consider this post of hers an advertisement, and even if it is I guess I don't care. she certainly contributes a lot of useful info to these message boards. I for one appreciate it!

From what I understand the pool is open year round WEATHER permitting..so yes it would be open now.

However they are having a Luau Beach Party on May 20 which is a grand re-opening party of sorts. (I hope to attend this)

I have only been to the pool twice, last fall, so obviously it wasn't hard to get a chair in October. My trips are always Spring and Fall. I don't know how hard it would be to get a chair during busy times. I am assuming there is no charge for the chaise lounges, but there may be for those daybeds.
Maybe some of the hosts can chime in on that topic?

I share items about the Plaza because I visit the Plaza,
    I enjoy the Plaza
and I know there are others who do as well and who would like to be kept up to date on what is new there.

    Thanks Vegasdev!

For one night? I'd give it a shot... depending on your play, getting them to comp one weekday night ought to be pretty easy... just check in with Curtis at the Host office when you get there...let him know that you're there for one night & you'd like to have the room taken care of, if possible.
Put in a few solid hours of $20/average bets, and I suspect you'll be covered.

@vegasdev coupon book has at the very least 2 10 matchplays and I believe 10 dollars slot play. Also some things exclusive to new members (Shirt and extra drawing entries). It also has a coupon for hash house, 2 for oscars and so other random stuff. We were initially paying for 4 nights and my wife figured the value in the coupon book plus the wifi (which was very good) easily made up for the resort fee. In the end we had 2 additional nights comped off so the book more than covered the 36.00

I forgot to comment on the coupon book....the only thing I can remember using was a two for 1 coupon for Subway sandwiches a few trips ago. There may have been others I used but I just can't remember....

    Thanks Saz! Will do.

thank you for the updates. most likely i would only use the match plays and slot dollars. but that could be enough to make a difference for me.
