    Plaza keeps getting better.

    About normal traffic Tuesday.
    Increased traffic on Wednesday.
Most traffic I've ever seen today.

Enjoyed a LVA 241 meal at Pasta Pirate.

Fremont Street construction is fairly well handled and is not an obstruction to pedestrians. Much easier to navigate than the strip.

Unfortunately record temps of 117 are due tomorrow.

Thanks for the update Eldon. It's especially nice to hear about the Plaza. 2 months ago it was busier than I'd seen it in a long time too.

With the sprucing up downtown, it would be awful to lose another casino. I hope the Plaza has it's stuff together now. It's been awhile.

Well I have no connection to The Plaza, it would be a shame to see them fail. The rooms and hotel are pretty decent after the refurb but the VP I saw was nothing special. If you wanna compete DT you simply have to give a fairer shake for our money!

Yes I would agree it would be nice to see the Plaza remain. It always surprizes me how few people will not go beyond the canopy an cross the street.

The Plaza has 9/6 DDB which is the game I play. You cant get that at MSS or The D. You can get it at El Cortez, GG, The Cal.

They have 9/6 DDB at MSS, but its way in the back of the casino, on just a half dozen or so machines.

The D has plenty of 9/6 DDB now, mostly upstairs in one bank(25c - $1), and in the high limit area from $1 right up to $25 denom. Even on some Supertimes pay and 3/5/10 play machines.

None of these are listed on vpfree.

Last time I was in there I couldn't find them! Where are they? The bar tops were the standard CET type pay outs.

Yeah, the bartops at the Plaza suck, but they do have a progressive on them. They have 9/6 DDB on machines back in the casino in front of Z bar.

Thanks for the good news here! I looked everywhere, I thought, throughout MSS and never found anything other than 9/5. So, I just played at Boarshead bar on their 9/5. Same with the D although I didnt look upstairs, and played a few hundy through at the Long Bar. I played blackjack and baccarat at the high limit room at the D, but didnt see they had a high limit room for machines. I will definitely be checking that out next weekend! thanks again Oxy!

As an exclusive bartop player only, you can find 9/6 DDB at the two downstairs Cal bars and for sure and at Four Queens, upstairs at Chicago Brewing Co. But yea, 75% of my time is spent at MSS on the 9/5 DDB machines at the bar.

The Cal has another bar called Dave's, next to the sportsbook upstairs, but I don't know the paytables there.

I was at the Plaza earlier this month. Took advantage of their $100 loss/free play promotion when I signed up for their card.

While I want to like their casino, I just can't stand the smell. Whatever scent they are pumping into that place is nauseating...

Why is it getting busier? Are their gambling rules getting better? Better VP and slots? Food prices dropping? Room and food comps easier to obtain? Hot new show in their showroom? Did they remodel the pool?

None of the above as far as I could see this week. I stayed Tues thru Fri and didn't notice it being any busier. In fact I thought it was slower. The runway thing with dancing girls never had anyone on it, and the tables were empty. No wait at any of the restaurants. Z bar was never open, or if it was, didn't have anyone in it. I didn't spend a lot of time in there, just coming and going from my room in the South Tower, but those were my observations. Oh, and probably 10-15 people max at the pool during the day. That was perfect for me!

Well, they are one of only three casinos downtown that offers a $10 (or less) 2-deck game with DAS permitted. Sadly, it doesn't seem to have sunk in with them that this is a "crowd draw", as they still only ever have one such table operating, and when it is, it's always busy...
