Ok, so you brought up the reason being that there were "challenges", but have no idea what they were, how about you tell us how waiting in line at a cashier(and most of the time you have only one open) will improve the customer experience?

IMO they are hoping to reap a very small windfall, and we're talking small, small amounts, from people too embarrassed or unwilling to wait in line to cashout amounts less than a buck or two...and that is really sad. That kind of accountant mentality, the nickle and dime the customer angle with the games, the odds, the rules, and now even the taking out of TITO machines, is why the plaza and LVC are in the situation they are.

It doesnt not bother me to have to go to the window. Certainly not a deal breaker.

    Wow!

    This can't be true.

Next thing you'll tell me is that they've taken out the fountain soda dispensers from the TITO/ATM kisoks at the M Resort.

Yikes... This will definitely be a hassle on my upcoming trip. Shocking move to me.. Maybe not a deal breaker as far as hanging out for a while but we'll see. Plenty of places to gamble to waste a bunch of time and headaches on one place.

Maybe it was LVC as a few people mentioned above. I just know I ran into it once more on my trip after Plaza.

Oh well. It did get me thinking what casinos could do to make me gamble less. Making it more difficult for me to get my cash back would be right at the top of the list.

I had been considering giving the Plaza a try for a future stay but seeing as though I only play slots, being forced to use the cashier again would rule them off my list. I have played there in the past but have never stayed there. The last time I was there though, all the TITO machines were out of order so I was forced to use the cashier cage. The TITO I was cashing in was not an even number so i guess the cashier decides that she will just keep that change for herself and just handed me the paper bills. I was a bit confused and thought she read the TITO wrong so when I asked where the change was because it wasn't an even number, she gets all pissy with me, gets the coins, and shoves them at me while giving me the evil eye. I was a bit shocked that she would decide to tip herself. I mean, I've given cashier's the coin change before but only after they give it to me and I say, keep the change. It really turned me off of the place.

I posted this same thing in my trip report a few weeks ago. I went into the Plaza to play the ACG free play, looked for a TITO machine, then asked a slot attendant. They have no machines on the property. I was told I had to go to the cage. When i went to the cage, there was one cashier and about 8 people in line.

I gave the $3.00 ticket to a homeless guy on Fremont. I was not going to waste my time in line for $3. I also promised myself to avoid the Plaza in the future, if they continue their "good customer experience" policy of no machines.

I was being kind in the PM I sent you, but now I am also waiting for you to name the "several other" casinos that are cutting back on TITO machines. You're just making sh*t up!:poke:
And you can't count Vegas Club as one of them.

Next time I might put in a buck and play for a nickle or two and then go cash out just to piss the cashier off, maybe do that 2 or 3 times in 15 min or so, that way I can triple up on my excellent customer experience.

I feel kind of bad for that Plaza guy (feadopolis?) who has to keep spraying perfume on a turd, talk about a shitty job!

What you've mentioned above is the only reason I can think of as to why they've done this. It really is sad and pathetic.

Can't help but think of what might happen if anyone there wins a sizable jackpot. I can just imagine the pit critter hanging on to the leg of the winner as he gets dragged toward the exit of the casino as the winner tries to leave....lol!!! :poke:

Feadopholus (sp?), maybe suggest to management that they convert to all coin machines if they want to "save" on the cost of TITO machines. But then now I'll have to go to the cashier to redeem all those coins. Sigh... I'll just play at the Cal. They have those coin changer machines out on the floor.... now THAT'S customer service!!

Those TiTo machines are usually owned by GCA, which leases them to the Casinos. Believe me, the lease fees are MUCH more than simply paying someone minimum wage...Another point is, those machines usually pay for themselves by people drawing money out of them (via ATM/Cash Advance). I seriously doubt a LOT of people go through Plaza who are going to get big cash advance (high fee)...

Thanks Tim. I had no idea these things were so costly to lease. You are right that there probably aren't that many people using these for their ATM services at the Plaza though.

I think we're mixing apples and oranges. The TITO machines being referred to in this thread are simply cash for ticket or make change machines. Stand alone, no other options except to cash a ticket or break a bill. Not an ATM type machine.

Actually the ones LVC and Plaza had for a long time were both ATM and TITO cashing machines.

Oh, I don't think I've ever seen a combo machine. All the Boyd places have stand alone, TITO, in addition to the ATM types.

The ones that DON'T do ATM are more expensive to lease, because they don't offer the ROI of getting ATM/CashAdvance fees...
I'm sure they already have an ATM machine there at Plaza, but I wonder what model/company it is...

feadolphus, You have responded to many of the follow up comments, yet you haven't addressed this. You must have overlooked it. Can you list just 3?

Tim, Do you have any links to verify your claim on the lease rates vs the cost of the employees? Where did you get such information?

As gamblers, we don't care how much it costs. Not our problem. In this day and age, it is expected a casino have these machines. it's up to the casino to make it cost effective. Look at how sad the Gold Spike got without having the Tito system. It killed them. This cannot help the Plaza in anyway.

Guys, I think it is great that someone from the hotel bothers to respond to us on this site. Yes, he might have over exaggerated one or more claims but at least he responded that they will look into the situation. Better than 95% of the other casinos who don't respond at all to this site and our concerns.

I'm not a Plaza fan (while I might stay there if the price is right, I would probably gamble elsewhere), sure, we want to vent and I would like to ask him a number of questions regarding better gaming and better service but I know that he will comment when he feels the need and can give us answers that would satisfy us. While he works at the Plaza he isn't the one who makes the decisions so basically is giving the company stance based on what he knows and is told.

He is a good resource and hopefully he reads our concerns and will relay it to management. It will be up to the Plaza upper management to address our concerns (or not). I hope he sticks around here, at least we get some insight and have someone we can speak with concerning going ons at the plaza. At least we know that someone there hears us, most other casinos we don't hear squat from them.
