Way back in September wife and I booked a suite at the Plaza for Super bowl weekend with the hopes our Patriots would be in the game. We were excited to see then making their way in when during the Steeler playoff game I got a call from Curtis informing me that they could not honor our reservation and would a regular room do? I knew my wife would have issues with this ( and she did). Curtis did the right thing and gave us a penthouse suite for the stay. Penthouse was pretty awesome, top floor south tower, keyed entrance to get into the floor, and large living area with wet bar wraparound sofa, kithen table with four chairs, large bathroom with shower and seperate tub, seperate area with sinks, large closet. I would estimate1500 sf.
Now the party- We bought tix for 200 and that gave buffet food stadium style, open bar for most of the game, and seats at large tables with many tvs to watch large screen. The food was ample but could have been a bit better quality, waiter did his best to keep each table stocked with the bottled beer and wine cooler each desired.
Liked the vibe the Plaza was giving with the Disco bands and seemed to be pretty alive at the tables and the casino. Beer Garden was closed, don't know if it plans on re-opening. I have always enjoyed our stays at the Plaza and glad to see Curtis is back. Oh yea did I mention the Patriots came back from a 25 point deficit to win the game, unbelievable! Oh yea and I told my wife not to bet on overtime because Super bowls have never ever gone into overtime. I still haven't heard the end of it.
