Have an amazing trip @SunshineSlayer ! Sounds like it'll be a blast, and so happy to see PHo open again! :)

Can I ask for a boots-on-the-ground slot identification of a certain machine at Mirage? Haha

Thanksgiving with my favorite, in our favorite place!

If you happen to be in the poker room area of PH can you check and see if they are open? I haven't read anything on it yet and we arrive on Thursday. Thank You

So next we headed down to Flamingo for dinner at Bugsy & Meyer. We were having no luck at slots along the way, so headed to the bugsy & Meyer bar for pre dinner drinks. Most of the cocktails were whisky cocktails, which is not really my thing. Ended up getting the Emerald Isle, which was excellent.

dinner as well was very nice. I got the American wagyu short ribs and they were very tender and just fell apart.

It was around this time casino hopping down the Caesar’s side of the strip that we began to see a lot of what’s been talked about. It’s a different crowd, still. It was also super crowded. I’ve been to Vegas on weekends in the past, and this was busy even by normal standards.

It was not even possible to social distance even if you wanted to. From paris to harrahs it was just a constant flood of people both inside and outside the casinos. Between that and the plane ride in it’ll be a miracle to come out of this virus free lol.

I saw a few scooters but not to the level previously talked about. They must be cracking down on them.

the walkways, skyways etc were in terrible condition. The outside walls for the Cromwell also looked beat up.
It was crowded and a laker game was going on. You could feel people getting heated so my mom and I headed back to PH before we really witnessed anything brewing. There was just a sense in the air that this could pop off sometime soon and it was not enjoyable to be around. We hurried back to PH!

Totally agree about the condition on the outside of Cromwell. Going to have to be a major cleanup/painting to get it in shape for any kind of reopening.
It's amazing how you can go from the Cosmo/Bellagio area to just down between Bally's/Cromwell. Goes from clean and bright to downright shabby.

Definitely not there anymore! In fact, I don’t recall seeing any Ellen machines anywhere we went. If anything I noticed a trend of casinos getting rid of the machines that were licensed properties. Cosmo was the only notable exception in that regard. I noticed that the trend continued at Caesars properties (even the Linq has none now). But also, disappointingly, Mirage and Bellagio have gotten rid of several of them as well.

I am now back home with more time to write, so let’s get on with this report shall we??

So the next plan for Friday was to head across the street to Cosmo and start earning sterling. But as you guys might have seen in the other thread, I got turned away at the door! There goes my well-made plans for the weekend! As much as it sucked, I realize why they are doing it and I agree with the decision. Upon visiting their reward desk the next day, apparently as a player, I was supposed to be allowed back in but being that it was the first night they were still working the kinks out.

Dejected, I head back to Planet Hollywood. I debate a bit about going to the Aria or elsewhere but decide against it because of the crowd, which again, was more crowded than I was comfortable with and just not the best crowd either. So I gamble at PH, even though I hate gambling at PH. lol. I always lose there. Always. Why am I staying there again?

I kept the tradition alive and rage lost about $400 before bed. No gambling pictures of note because nothing noteworthy happened except looooosing

The Cosmo with the doors shut and security out front:

The next day we start bright and early. Here's to hoping for a better second day! We get the day off to a good start with a nice breakfast at Cafe Hollywood.

After that, our first order of business was to head to the Cosmo and play a bit. Oh, so here's where I should mention why I needed to do my status earning alone - while my mom loves to come to Vegas and really wants to gamble with me.....she is a cooler lol. I always have bad luck when I gamble with her. So most of my gambling during the day on this trip is limited to minimum betting $20 here and there and enjoying some drinks.

We try out the new Game of Thrones machines; lots of fun. Also hit up a few wizard of oz's and wonka's, Sex and the City etc. I manage to stay even. Cosmo really does have a great slot selection.

Next was over to Aria to use $25 myKonami freeplay. I quickly learned that they have removed their Konami machines and that I can use the freeplay anywhere. I manage to turn it into 24 actual dollars.

Next is we both have a free cocktail to redeem at the Lobby Bar. We both got Cosmos, which my mom took easily over an hour with hers, so I ended up having to get a second one lol. In fact, my mom got tipsy off of just this much Cosmo:

    56DA9507-E470-49EB-A4AD-15CFE34AF149.jpeg
She even started chatting with the guy next to her, lol. And even though I'm sitting right next to her, she has to repeat her conversation with him to me - "I was just talking to Gavin Newsom about our neighbor." What she had meant to say was, "I was just talking to our neighbor (at the bar) about Gavin Newsom." Oh. my. God. Mom, you are cut off after this much Cosmo:

The bartender here Resendo was awesome. Nice guy and made great Cosmos.

We were there last weekend too, and it was closed. Only saw Caesars, Wynn, and Flamingo poker rooms open.

We were at Cosmo last night and got dropped off at the cab area and walked right in, nobody was stopped or screened, which was surprising as I thought they were cracking down on this. Good luck with the rest of your trip!

From the information produced by Cosmo, they are only screening at the main entrances off the strip 6pm -6am. The lobby entrance is not being screened.

    One night downtown
    Three nights on the strip

Oh boy, trust me, I’ll get this trip report done, just might take a while lol.

Next, we head over to Park MGM to use our MyVegas match play rewards. My mom wins her $15 matchplay at the blackjack table, but then loses her $25 match play. She is just happy that she actually sat at a table and didn't mess it up. Pretty surprising considering how tipsy she was, lol. I turn $25 matchplay into $155 dollars and get the heck off the table. It was pretty quiet at Park MGM, but things looked nice. I hadn't been there in maybe two years? So a lot of it was new to me.

We checked out Eately for the first time. Much of it wasn't operating, but it still looked pretty cool I must say. The pizza and pasta restaurant was open and we were able to get outdoor seating. It was really nice and the pizza and wine were good. I definitely plan on visiting again in the future.

Upon getting up from our table, I realize I left my jacket somewhere (maybe I'm tipsy too?). Luckily the pit boss at the blackjack table had it.

By that time it was late afternoon and Mom went back to the hotel to take a nap. I headed back to Cosmo to get some play in. No major wins or major losses. Had some nice small wins that kept me even:

We take an uber down to the Mirage because we don't want to have to walk down the Caesars part of the strip again. Do a quick walkthrough of the Mirage and use my $25 MyKonami freeplay, which I lose. By that point, it's dinner time and stupid us did not make a reservation anywhere. There was a line to get in just about everywhere due to the capacity restrictions. So we decide to head to the Venetian shops and stop at the first place that has available seating, at least at the bar. From there, we head to the Wynn for the first time.

    70E1963B-87B2-4F82-97EC-FFB006B008E7.jpeg

The security check at the Wynn was a breeze. Beautfiul property as expected. I also saw, and had to do a double take at a $1,000 minimum blackjack table on the main casino floor. Is that always there? I got the feeling they were really trying to give the message to some people that they were not welcome to play at the property. While I had hoped to do a decent amount of play there and get a teaser offer, I was disappointed in their slot floor. Just very generic, so I decided then and there that it wouldn't be worth it for me, and I'll concentrate by play at the Cosmo.

We catch an Uber and head back to PH. I play some blackjack for a few hours. Started with $300, got all the way down to $15, then all the way back up to $300. I cashed out even and headed to bed. Somehow stayed even the whole day.
