    My Trip Report

I will be back in Vegas for the first time in 11 months for my annual mother/daughter trip. Not only is this the first trip in almost a year, I also wasn't able to drink on my last trip and it will be my first mom-cation. Woo-hoo!

I booked Planet Hollywood months ago when I didn't even realize it was still closed. So we got in just by the skin of our teeth with it reopening today. Yay!

    Tentative plan:

Hotels - Planet Hollywood from 10/9 through 10/11 fully comped
Mirage - 10/11-10/12 paying resort fee

Gamble - Slots, black jack, some VP.

10/9 - Fly from Colorado and meet up with mom, who is flying in from California, at McCarren.
Check in and explore Planet Hollywood (my mom has never stayed there)
Casino hop down to the Flamingo and dinner at Bugsy & Meyer
Casino hop back to Planet Hollywood, Mom goes to bed, I go to Cosmo to get sterling status

10/10 - Breakfast at Cafe Hollywood
Play it by ear! Only plan is to use some myVegas rewards

    10/11 - "Buffet" at Cosmo.
Mom heads back home, I transfer to Mirage
Dinner and play at Mirage and then head down to Wynn for the first time to generate a teaser offer (unless I'm broke by this point lol)

I'm not sure how "live" this will be, but I will try to do at least a daily roundup post at the end of each day. All done on my phone, so forgive any typos and autocorrects.

    Today's plan: Hydrate!

Thanks for the well wishes! Heading to the airport soon.

Sidenote: Is there a specific VP machine or bank of machines that's recommended at Planet Hollywood?

Looking for to following your report and see some pics of Planet Hollywood. It has been over a year since I have stayed there. I like the Hot Roll poker machine by the 100 play VP machines. I have had the best luck on the machine opposite the walkway. Good luck

Please post photos of PH if you don't mind! Would love to see what things look like inside my favorite property after the long closure.

I like the machines near the big crystal/glass ball. I couldn’t even tell you the pay tables but I always had decent luck and good drink service. Good luck and have fun.

Oh my gosh, day two of my trip and I am already behind!

here are some highlights from day one!

In preparation for the trip, the most important thing: The bankroll

The Denver airport was actually somewhat busy. Wasn’t expecting that. That’ll be a theme today. I was on a 100 percent full United flight with no social distancing. They filled every seat.

otherwise flight went well and soon ended up here:

We took a cab for the first time in forever because we were both tired and didn’t want to walk to the Uber place and wait lol.
The cab driver took us to the Flamingo.....oh boy, good start. Eventually we ended up where we were supposed to:

Unfortunately I haven’t grabbed a ton of PH photos yet. Bad me. Will try to rectify today.

    General notes about PH:

property looked great, though basically the same. Everything looked clean. Slot floor has not been changed in any significant way since I stayed here two years ago. Sports book looks the same to me.

They were temperature checking at checkin. The Diamond registration room was closed even though it was only 3:30 on a Friday. We were given line priority though and upon checkin were upgraded from their standard room to their premium ultra hip room. Room is great as usual, no issues.

I did not see significant desanitization of machines going on unfortunately. What they do have (at all the Caesars properties it seems) are randomly interspersed large tubs of sanitizing wipes put in some of circular slot machine banks for the guests to use to wipe down the machines. I did not observe employees doing it.

Quick side note: just took the elevator down for breakfast at Cafe Hollywood. It’s 8:00 am and a guy and girl come on maskless and clearly on something. And the guy is trying to get frisky right then and there in the elevator. Lovely.

SW has that policy, United does not (& I love SW for that!). My last flight with United and American was the same, but they kept families and spouses together (some peoe just haaaad to sit with their significant other - hence the middle seat being taken).
Masks were mandatory though so that helps. As long as no one's coughing, hacking, sniffling or breathing funny I feel better.
