Trips to Las Vegas

Hi Folks - sorry to say no pics/no big wins but thought I would share anyway.

Flights on American
CLT/LAS - gorgeous clean plane with very few of us on it. 1st class was full but rest of plane was so empty that some were asked to move seats to distribute weight. It was really really empty.
LAS/CLT - old guy (probably younger than me!) in wheelchair boards with a lot of help from attendants. Sits in front of my daughter. Mid flight he wants to use the restroom but he can't stand up. Attendant is trying her best then asks 2 guy passengers if they can help. Nothing works and they realize if they get him up there is no way they will be able to get him in and out of bathroom. They put him in 1st class and move someone back to his seat. Plane lands I tell my daughter I am going to blast the ahole who meets this guy that would allow him to travel alone. I mention this to attendants, they agree it was awful, then tell me the guy's got a flight after this one!

Transport - used Uber discounts I had purchased on Black Friday from Costco. Great deal. Also, as in the past, I used my senior discount on the Deuce. 3 day pass is $10. I set this up a few years ago sending them copy of my license. They sent me an ID card and I have the app that I fill when heading out there. Terrific deal. Good to be old:)

Meals - I'm on limited food plan so I bring stuff, buy at Target, and again, on Black Friday, I purchased this time Groupons for Cafe Hollywood/Earl of Sandwich. I think that Cafe is great.

Shows - Soul of Motown and MJ Live. Don't bother. However, last year I saw The Mentalist and he was great.

Casinos- Planet Hollywood quite smokey. Was surprised street floor of Circa was so dark, not impressed and irritated about having to show ID to enter. Got my $25 free play at Resorts and loved the look of that place. If it were only closer to the others, I would def stay there. Played all over with favorite slots being Railroad Riches, Little Shop, and the new Piggy Bank. I had about $1400 for 5 days and came home with $465 so for me that's a win.

Hotel - PH - I was debating whether or not to try for an upgrade. I am a very lowroller but my rooms are always comped at this slow time of year. I figured the $20 offering was not a sure thing but $50 would be. Can't do much with $20 but $50 goes further. I asked for and received Ultra Hip 2 Q Premium Strip View and checked in early. Clerk was very very happy with her tip and this saved me about $300 if I had gone through the hotel. My daughter arrived about 8 hours later and did the $50. Another happy clerk said fountain view was not available but that what she arranged should make my daughter happy. She and her bf were given an Ultra Blvd Suite with that crazy swinging bed/couch + full bedroom. I think it's 1800 sq ft. Hilarious and an excellent deal for $50 since that would have cost her about $340 more PER NIGHT. She paid $311 total for 5 nights, as I did.

Fun time. Thanks for reading!

I've never known Circa to seem dark.
I wonder if they have changed something.

Nice jobs with the upgrades!

I'm thinking "The $50 Trick" is the way we'll go on our next Vegas trip, too. The time has come! Good to see it really paid off for you and your daughter!

I've used a $50 the last few trips. I don't care about an upgrade so much as the ability to get into the room immediately rather than waiting for the standard check-in window. We generally walk through the front door around 08:30 on Sundays.

I'll have to check the Groupon for those restaurants....thanks for the tip!

I'm also a low roller and went as the same time as you because I got my room comped. And awesome upgrades for you and your daughter! Glad you had a good time!

Enjoyed the trip report. Great info. I checked Groupon today and saw Giada and The Bedford. Thanks!
