Got this back from my host this morning:

You can use your earned comp dollars at the following restaurants

    Project BBQ
    Bocho Sushi
    le Thai
    Eureka
    La Comida
    Pizza Rock

And my host confirmed, only comp money on your One Card is usable at these restaurants. Monthly food offers are ONLY good at the D.

A couple of years ago, I went into LeThai. There was a sign on the bar that said that they now accept Golden Gate food comps.

I thought, “great, I have $15 this month”.

    Ordered and ate.

It I turned out that I was supposed to have gotten a voucher at the GG players club FIRST.

Oops! That was on me, I guess. I just paid cash and left. The food was good, and I wasn’t upset.

Perhaps LeThai now accepts the new One Card. Has anybody tried lately?

I had heard you were supposed to get a voucher first as well. I wouldn’t mind trying out that pizza joint.

    Hi Dailun:

Did your host mean to draw a distinction between "earned" comp dollars and comps that you receive based on a monthly offer? I am staying at the D in March and hope to treat some friends from school to one of those restaurants l and don't want to be embarrassed if my attempt to pay in comps is refused. Also do you know if I have to get a food voucher first from the D first?

    FAB

I believe that One Card is doing away with vouchers and everything is card based. To be sure, I would check with your host or the One Card desk at the D. When I'm down there in a couple of weekends I can find out. Better yet, I can drop a line to my host to find out.

    My host just confirmed:

"Monthly food offers are only for the D".

I can only speak for La Comida. They use the One Card (No Vouchers) and the comps must be EARNED - not as part of your monthly offer. Your monthly offers for GG and D are good at Andiamo's, The Grill and Coney Island.

Project BBQ will take either the monthly offers OR the earned comp points.

La Comida is solid. I thought prices were reasonable too. Lady Ga Ga and friends enjoyed it.

Used my card at Le Thai in December, earned comps since I wasn’t staying at the hotels. The employees were still a little shaky with it but my transaction went smoothly.

Thanks tee time! Would Project BBQ ask someone if they wanted the comp dollars reduced or the monthly offer or do you just take your chances?

And, by Saying "the D", I assume that includes all of these?

From my experience - the woman that took my order used my monthly comp offer and told me the balance. That is probably their policy, but I would mention what you would like to happen - just in case.

Is Pizza Rock and La Comida within walking distance of the Downtown Casinos? I don't remember seeing them along Fremont Street.

Yes. Both are easy walking distance from Fremont Street Experience. Pizza Rock is next to Downtown Grand corner E. Ogden and 3rd St. La Comida is almost kiddie corner from El Cortez on 6th St.
