I hear ya, Jerseyguy. It's like more and more people are drinking crazy juice.

In my area on talk radio yesterday, there was a story of a father and son who shot each other over who was going to walk the dog. Certainly other issues came into play, but still. Come on.

Crazy! Everybody has to be right and everyone seems "willing to go to the mat" for the stupidest things these days.

My local Whataburger and MIckeyD get the order wrong at least 50% of the time- not that I use them very much now that I'm older and fatter.

People have that in your face I'm entitled mentality. Almost every week I have to intervene with a family member or patient bullying a nurse because we aren't bending over backwards and kissing their ass 24/7.

I thought with the advent of All-Day Breakfast folks would be joining hands and singing "Kumbaya".
Not every meal is a Happy Meal, I guess!

At our local Golden Arches, ordering a plain cheeseburger will get you a hamburger! :faint:

During an APEC conference in Honolulu a few years ago a fed agent shot and killed a local in a McD's in Waikiki. The local was a thug and was harassing tourists. The agent was partially drunk but he heard stories about locals harassing tourists so he stepped up and unfortunately the local guy made an aggressive move so the fed shot the guy. This was during the BLM movement time period so they tried to make it a local versus fed thing but us locals know that some locals are hotheads so most of us know that the shooting was warranted. 2 trials later both juries felt the same (hung juries) but our dumb prosecutor still wants to retry the fed. What a waste of time.

This is Florida. We are - and have been for some time now - the undisputed world heavyweight champions of psycho-nut-job-stoopid.
And that's just a sample of what we're capable of. Want to see the 'greatest hits album'? Here you go...a further testament that people have, indeed, gone nuts.

Watched quite a mob scene at the Easter candy clearance area at Wal-mart today.
Looked like a scene out of World War Z: Willy Wonka.
Two gals even had a tug-of-war over the last pack of Peeps. :faint:

    I kept my distance.
It was a lot quieter in the TP section. I prefer to squeeze my Charmin solo!

Its not more people going crazy, its just a lower bar for what is news. People have always acted stupid, we just have not covered it like it was an actual news story.

Eddie's correct, many news agencies chase banality. But if that's what the public demands, and for a lot of folks that is the case, kinda hard to shoot the messenger. It's a for-profit business, after all. And then the non-commercial outlets that are among those playing it down the narrow, well ...

    and

I think you fellers are correct. Heap many moons ago, we didn't have the 24/7/365 news cycle, and couple that with the interwebs and the unbridled proliferation of cell phone photography, turning everyone into a journalist, you can see how this becomes 'news'. Back in the day, these stories may never have seen the light of day, as we waited for the 'early edition' to land on the front porch. Of course, the advertising budget was a lot different...

I often think about how things would have turned out for me and my group of my High School friends if we all had cell phones with cameras, facebook, instagram, tweeting.
But we were able to legally drink at 18, so we had that going for us. :drunk:
