He’s been feeling ill for quite some time. But still no word from him on any topics of interest.

Smart man, there's a chance he'll get paid this year and possibly not have to play a single game lol.

Tied to KC for the next 12 years! Just read that the deal may be tied to a % of the salary cap too, so as the cap rises he gets more money. Smart move if true. I’m not a Chiefs fan but he is so exciting to watch, hope he stays healthy.

A worthy face for the NFL. Probably better than Brady or Montana ever were.

Little too early to say that. Could have said the same of Marino after three years in the league. Still, awesome player and the biggest contract ever in North American sports. Good for him

You probably know who I'm a fan of, so this might sound weird coming from me.

I don't believe anyone who plays football, or any other sport for that matter, is worth half a billion dollars for 10 years. Yeah, yeah...I know, they could get hurt. So could a lot of people in other essential professions, killed even. I think it's gotten out of hand.

Of course it has. Try to spend 500 million dollars over 100 years. 5 mill a year. Get a good accountant!!

but seriously, I agree it is out of hand but can’t recall ever saying I think it may be a bit high....in response to a job offer or offer of a raise. :nono: Damnit...

I remember when MJ signed his $30m/yr deal after earning “just” $4M a year for years. People said back then it was getting out of hand. I was taking a sports course in college and the prof said, “if an employer can afford to pay an employee $30M a year, guess what his boss/owner is making.” The money is out there. Just gotta ask for it.

Free market capitalism. Read some Milton Friedman when you have a chance. It's all laid out.
