Ozzy has to be rolling. For sometime now. I just heard it on one of those dish network music channels...god it was awful. I had to go in the house and back it up to see what was what. Wow. Late to the party but I’m sure it’s on you tube somewhere. Yikes.

Late to the party? Pat Boone's album of metal covers, which included this song, came out in 1997.

Sounds like something you'd hear in an elevator at Wynn. I like it.

Considering he was one of the writers of the song and gets royalties for Boone's performance, I'm sure Ozzy is fine with it

Both the Boone and Anka numbers have incredible arrangements!

Some crooner could have a pretty successful Vegas show at, say, Cleopatra's Barge with a show covering songs like this with swingin' Vegas arrangements.

I actually liked O Come O Come Emmanuel. The rest sound like someone crossing over religions to earn a paycheck.

I've got the Paul Anka CD. Once I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit I had to get it. Wonderwall is a favorite, too.

Sometimes an old country guy can get a cover right. Then again there’s only one Willie.

That had to be the same album that included his "cover" (total bastardization) of Dio's Holy Diver, which (the original by the late RJD, MHRIP) has always been one of my faves. That one was NOT even in the "so bad it's good" category!

On a related note, I was surprised by, and actually enjoyed, sorta, was Bon Jovi's "big band" remake of their otherwise total rocker It's My Life, which was kind of a tribute to the line "Like Frankie said, 'I did it my way'", which originally elicited some heated disagreement amongst the members.

I’m not an Ohio State fan, but I recall seeing them do “It’s My Life”, that marching band is pretty awesome.

Here is the big band version, albeit lip synched.
