Have you ever seen the show ‘The Temptress’? The conversation has weaved its way through a variety of topics before this one. I shrug my shoulders. Should’ve I?
Apparently it’s a reality show, the main concept isn’t hard to guess. I admit, I have not.. adding I don’t watch that much TV, except for the music channels or a football game. And a secret addiction to TVLand.
That part I left out.
Greg reaches into his pocket and withdraws his card. It’s glossy black surface is accented with red light art effects, resembling the décor of Mix. I look at the company name (don’t recognize it) but like the tag line. Where artists are born…. And when I glance at his name, I’m not surprised to see the word president beneath it.
So what are you working on now? I inquire. He admits nothing is in production at this moment, having just finished the aforementioned reality show and a short film on aged superheroes. Aged superheroes? (You know I had too ask.
)
The films concept is to catch up with the members of the Hall of Justice, now old and decrepit (probably living in Vegas
) for a ‘where are they now?’ retrospect. As he laid out the surprisingly docile retirement adventures enjoyed by a number of my childhood heroes, I was dead with laugh.
And so it went, the laughter, the tales and the Barbancourt.. until the club closed and the bartender approached us after finishing our last drink.
I was still laughing on the elevator ride back down to the atrium of THEhotel, where I pause for only a moment, before letting Greg usher me into the taxi that is conveniently waiting just outside the doors. Where to? The man asks.
Drais. Greg replies and I smile, settling in beneath his arm for the short ride. Ahhh yes.. dancing.
