Played a money line round robin parlay on the bowl games that generated a payout of around 20k. Bet was made in Mississippi, a few hours from me by car.

My preference for collecting would be in person and by check. Cash creates some CTR issues with my bank as well as other security and transporation potentaiI issues. called the property and asked if I could have a check if I come in person. They said no, only option is cash unless I mail it in.

This makes no sense to me - if you can do checks for mail ins, why not for in person? I don't play enough to have a host, but thought about reaching out to a host on duty and asking if I put the money on deposit while I'm in town, can I get a check for whats left when I leave. Any other suggestions on how to get a check for this payout?

Could you get cash and just do 4 or 5 smaller deposits at your bank? or a bank closer to the casino assuming your bank is a national chain

Well u can get the cash from the sport book and turn around use the cash at table game. I seen a guy buy in 3k at craps and play small and then buy in another 3k and left. Once you cash in your chip ask for check instead of cash.

The casino will also give you a CTR for cashing the ticket and most likely a W-2G

CTRs mean nothing. Drive there, get the cash, drive back, deposit cash at your bank... easy peasy.

I do agree that it does not make sense that they wouldn’t issue a check when you are there in person.

You could... but that in itself might trigger an investigation. There is nothing wrong with depositing over $10k. Playing games to avoid it is a crime.

After multiple phone calls, I found out the way to get a check is to cash the ticket at the cage. The supervisor there told me she can do a check. Why the sports book and host dept doesn’t know this is beyond me.
