Despite the level of smoking in France, my choice would have been Paris

The smoke does not bother me so much but it rather irritates my wife. I can see us spending some time there. Not sure she will like the rooms as much she was not impressed when we stayed there when it was MC.

As much of a pot head as I was back in the day, I cannot stand the smell of the skunk weed. Our last trip to Tahoe in July at Harrah's I swore a skunk had been killed right below our window until I realized what it was.

As a smoker, I do think it is great news. Non smokers deserve to enjoy themselves. They just need to find the happy medium. :)

I was also told by a friend who had stayed there that the Park rooms were bad as far as noise, but I wanted the proximity to T-Mobile, so I decided to try NoMad. As I posted in the party pooper thread :D, that was the quietest hotel stay I have ever had in Vegas.

I agree, Paris would be the logical choice for CET to convert to non smoking.

In Atlantic City right now there is no smoking in the casinos and you really can see the difference. I work at Borgata and it has been wonderful without smoking. Most of our customers are fine with going outside to smoke. I’m really not hearing any complaints about it.

NoMad had already become my home base as hotel, so this is great news for me. ParkMGM casino grew on me over the transition, and I really came to like it. Looking forward to when I can get there again, and will pretty much focus all my play there because of this.

Now. Here's the Big Burning Question. Will they enforce it, the no smoking that is? I know that Sams Town and our local Horseshoe will not routinely enforce their no-smoking slot areas.

Same as Ken, I spent 4 days there in December, and have booked it for the last 9 nights of my summer trip next year as well.

Really loved all the staff at Nomad, the rooms are great, and I actually like the layout of Park MGM, as well as the ability to get elsewhere on the strip easily.

Vegas is the only place I actually do smoke, having 'given up' in 2009. I only -1pack a fortnight, so it won't make any difference to me.

Even when I did smoke, I preferred the pubs/bars being smokefree over here, and us dirty smokers going outside to do our deed :D

Since they issued a press release promoting it, I assume they will enforce it. It should be rather easy since it applies to the entire casino, not just areas

A sign posted by Las Vegas Locally on Twitter lists 3 smoking areas: the rideshare pickup, NoMad Porte Cochere, and Central Park Terrace in the convention center. So it should be very easy to enforce in the casino. Glad to hear this news, I will be giving them more of my play in the future.

    1) i care less about the smoking. I dont smoke. I live in CA where smokers need to hang their head in shame to buy a pack.... but it really doesn't bother me in casinos.

    2) I'm much more excited that Nomad is reopening. Hope Eataly opens. Now considering moving my mid-Oct trip.

    3) that Nomad port cachere is smoking section seems odd. I've sat out there waiting on my car. Seems like poor planning to undermine what is a quiet space for the upscale hotel-in-hotel entry point into a smoking lounge. I pity the doorman and valet if they're supposed to restrict smokers to Nomad guests only.

I haven't seen that, but I am surprised they did not exclude the pool from the new rule

Nice! That's pretty cool. Should be super fresh after being closed.
I could see the casinos putting a big air freshener is the middle of the casino, lol.

Why not give it a try? Nearly 85% of Americans don't smoke. It's kinda hard to see how they shouldn't have a smoke-free option.

Not of fan of Park - but with this announcement, it will be our next stay for sure.

New Orleans has been smoke free for awhile and it is great.
Right now Cherokee is smoke free and we loved it.

It’s a welcome move and probably a wise one - with that many properties, it makes perfect business sense for MGM to make that option available :) I may very well stay there next year assuming HGS happens in 2021
