What chocolate?! Also, not many high rollers play here. Hence the small high limit and dying Nomad brand.
lol, I agree there are not many big players here, but that has nothing to do with the dying Nomad brand
I think it’s going to be same size as Delano or MB VIP lounge…those lounges are quite small with limited seated. The agent the lounge will be enclosed with doors. I think the doors will be flush with the curved wall on jadubya’s photo (basically where the VIP ceiling signage is).
My best guess is that its a comb9ination of reasons, but primarily a result of marketing and better options elsewhere. The resort is not really marketing to high limit players, let alone high rollers. Park is trying to bring in a younger clientele that is willing to spend money on entertainment and drinks. Anything more they make in the casino is just the icing on top. Since they don't allow smoking, they don't even try to market to baccarat players (which is the highest of the high limit games). As a result, they just don't get high rollers. The majority of their high limit players are just black chip bettors. I know from talking to my host that I am her second biggest customer and often the biggest player in the casino when i stay there (and I am only a mid roller). But being a mid roller makes you a big player for this place. The reason they do not market to the high rollers is probably because there are High Roller amenities they do not have and have no reason to invest in (unless they were trying to get those high rollers). MGM segments their client base and tries to steer them to certain resorts. They steer their biggest players to Bellagio and Aria. Those places have all sorts of amenities for bigger players that Park/Nomad does not. And since Aria is literally connected by a walkway, there really is no way for Park to compete for those bigger fish. The high rollers are steered toward Bellagio and Aria. After that, MGM Grand and now Cosmo also have many more high roller amenities. Even Mandalay has more to offer bigger players, though MGM really tries to steer the convention players there. I think Park does a good job with what it has. But in its current incarnation, its unlikely to attract anyone bigger than black chip players and a few curious mid rollers
Ooo, I'm curious haha. True true. I think I only heard it's cause of Hilton. Sunova gun... I want.. I need this!
You’re saying that baccarat pits are smoky (other casinos)? Lol. I would fit right in. lol. I always thought the non smoking aspect would have brought more action… When you say amenities, are you referring to penthouses, shopping, restaurants? Do they have the same upper limits as the other casinos? I apologize for picking your brain. I really am surprised by the lack of heavyweights…
The majority of bac players are smokers. As for smoky pits, that depends on the size and design of any given high limit room. Amenities means a lot of things. Compare what Nomad can offer versus a true high roller casino casino. here's what Wynn can offer its high rollers that Nomad cannot (or does not): private checkin lounge, lounge with food and drinks throughout the day, lounge with food in the high limit room that is limited to the biggest players (not people sneaking in to get drinks and freebies), 24/7 butlers, its own car fleet (Nomad uses the MGM Grand and Mandalay cars), separate elevators for the bigger player floors, elevator security, bigger and more ornate suites and villas, private pools, high end shopping, special event parties. That's just off the top of my head
Park MGM also has a pretty small selection of higher denim slots compared to places like Bellagio. The layout and location next to a busy hallway is also not a good environment. I don't have proof, but feel like the slots are set a bit lower there and at Aria. Not enough high end rooms / base rooms are too small/cheap to bring in more clientele to support more amenities @Travel Fanatic mentioned. The layout of the higher end Nomad rooms is unique and a deal breaker for some.
I like the uniqueness of the high end rooms, mainly because my son thinks they are fun and interesting. But a couple times, I have stayed in their two bedroom royale suite (which is their highest end room product) and to get to the second bedroom and bath, you have to walk down a blank, narrow hallway. It is very odd
Smoking is very very popular in China and Hong Kong so many open baccarat rooms have a lot of smoke, unless it is a private salon. I think China is one of the largest consumers of tobacco in the world. As a large number of baccarat players come from China and HK... Well you see the correlation. Also to add, many Chinese smokers like to smoke the cigarettes from China. They have much higher levels of nicotine and the related chemicals. When someone lights it up, it is very strong.
I’ve probably heard that. For some reason they refer to me as ‘big man’. Idk why, ldc to know why, as long as we all get a laugh…
