    Hello all,

On a whim, I called the Paris hotel/casino and asked what room rate I could get, checking in Sept. 1 and staying 4 nights.

When I gave the reservationist my TR card number and my husband's TR card number she said she could comp us for the 4 nights in a luxury room with either a King or 2 Queen beds.

My question is, anyone stayed in one of these rooms recently? Have they been renovated recently, how are the beds, comfy, bathroom?

I asked the reservationist but she couldn't find any info on the latest re-models etc.

Anyone tried the $20 trick lately and did it work or not? Just curious.

Looking forward to any advice, reviews, etc.

    Thank you in advance,
    K-9treatbaker

The luxury rooms are the basic rooms at Paris. They are DATED. It's been almost 2 years since we stayed there, but what I remember it was pretty awful. Still had a tube TV in 2012. The rooms were clean and I think I remember the bathroom being a decent size. The beds were very very old, you could tell. We had a good view but the room itself was fugly.

I've not heard anything about renovations in those rooms. Only reason we stayed there is because we hadn't yet and liked the casino.

We stayed at the Paris in December last year, and had our Luxury room comped as well. We did the $20 trick, asked for a Red Room Premier, (view of the Eiffel Tower, red "lip" couch, 42" LCD Tv, really nice bathroom) and got it! (would have been happy with just a regular Red Room as the red rooms have all been updated) We really liked the room. Other friends staying with us, who didn't have the courage to "slip the sandwich" ended up just with the luxury room. They said it was very clean, but also very dated. They thought the bed was new though, as it was extremely comfortable.

I would see if you could get the same offer at PH or Bally's. PH rooms are better. Bally's is more liberal with upgrades on comp rooms. They have reno'd rooms in the south tower too.

    da,
Thank you so much for your input. I will definitely see if I can get the same comp at Bally's or PH. I don't want a dated room and hard bed. LOL

    Thanks again,

Hi! My girlfriend and I stayed at Paris over Thanksgiving. Had a flight/hotel package and was booked in a luxury room. They looked dated from everything I saw online. When we got there to check in the line was a good hour long. I thought so much for using the $20 trick here. However, when I got to the counter I was very friendly to the lady and Im sure she appreciated that seeing as how I was waiting an hour. I tipped her a $10 didn't even ask for a upgrade and was put in a Red premier room very high up. The view was of Bally's but I didn't mind! It was awesome! I say give it a go on the $20 trick.

Do the red room upgrade. I had a standard room on a comp and they e-mailed me a few days before and I upgraded for like $20 a night. Worth it (price may very). Good chance that will happen... if not do the $20 at check in. But I find it easier to just pay a little extra and confirm I have it in advance..

I didn't find the red rooms to be spectacular either (not as nice, upgraded and clean as MGM or Mandalay's rooms).. but it was clean, and the decor was decent. Ultimately for a comp, I'd stay in either room.

We had a red room last year. It was ok, and if I had no other frame of reference, I probably would have thought it was a nice room. Based on other Vegas rooms we have stayed in (MGM, Aria, MB, V/P), it was definitely on the lower end. I can't imagine what the luxury rooms look like.

Also it was upgraded 4 or 5 years ago.. not exactly new. I can't explain exactly what it is.. it just looks a little less nice than the Mife ones. Just slightly less clean.. slightly less kept up. All the Caesars properties have this feeling. Also the remodel was basically new carpet and bedding. Not like they gutted it.

The last time I stayed in a standard room at Paris the beds had just been replaced. She had even commented on that when I said something about them being hard the previous trip. I believe the tube TVs were also recently replaced in the luxury rooms - but not positive on that.

We just stayed in a Red 2 weeks ago and it was great. No issues at all. TV worked fine to check the bill - otherwise I never watched it lol! But bed was comfy, extra pillows were provided when I requested, clean and comfortable and all amenities that we needed.

I have actually never had a room problem with either type.

I stayed in blue room at the end of 2012. I don't do the $20 trick so I don't know if as upgrade was even possible. The room decor was dated but the room was not. I could tell that they had replaced the wallpaper and probably refreshed the bathroom. I had an LCD TV. The bed was pretty new. The only thing that needed replacement soon was the carpet but it wasn't dirty, just a bit worn. The furnishings were a shabby chic with a French country feel. I get the feeling that the blue rooms are probably not all being maintained or refreshed at the same pace but the one I stayed in was great if you don't have to have brand spanking new everything and and more focused on comfort.
