So I am looking around and I noticed of course a lot of downtown casinos tout themselves as being loser then the strip by so much percentage. Then I find the Palms, which claims they are loser then downtown. I look around and find a few places that back up this claim, not to mention they also have 100%+ payout on VP. That, with also the fact that they currently have a promo for rebate up to $1000 seems to be a no brainer for me to play there, right? Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't?

It is hard to beat their video poker.

The only reason that I do not stay there is that I prefer the ability to go to different casinos downtown.

I haven't been to The Palms in quite some time. Maybe I'll check them out on my next trip.
But according to the photo you posted that claim is based on a report that is over 2 years old.

For someone who doesn't have an established gambling record (ie, not signed up for rewards programs) the loss rebates given by places like the Palms and the Tropicana are legit, and actually make short term gambling odds skew in your favor. Obviously they aren't doing it for no reason...they are trying to buy your loyalty. Like those old record clubs that gave you 4 CDs for a penny, then you just had to buy 3 more. But the initial deals are simply unbeatable.

As for video poker at the Palms, there's very little debate that they have among the best, if not the best paytables in town.

true but who knows if that report has been issued yet for the 2011-2012 year... since its still 2012. i don't know what they consider the year... 2010-2011 is pretty recent. and i would say if they only had 1 year listed id say they took a hit 1 year so they could have a FULL YEAR of bragging rights and cut the payout but if you notice it was 2 yrs straight.... but you do make a point they could always just cut the payout now that the word is out.

    Take the FREE Palms Shuttle

Now, there are FREE shuttles between Rio and Ballys, between Gold Coast and Bills, and between Caesars Forums Shoppes and Palms.

The Palms shuttle just started four months ago and operates from 10 AM to 8 PM.

Gold Coast I think is 9 AM to 1 AM as is the Rio Shuttle. I just don't remember their times as I just wander over after 9 AM anyway and I am back much earlier than 1 AM.

When you enter the Palms right now, you will want to take a right turn. The main entrance is virtually a ghost town. You will see some table games with no one at them, and large vacant areas over in front of the check in desk that is part of the huge remodel going on.

Club Palms and the slot machines will be to the right from the main entrance. Don't forget to scan your new CLUB PALMS card at the kiosks for freebies.
