hi! we've got 3 nights booked at the Palazzo in April and have a couple of questions about the pools...
a) I assume you residents of one hotel can use the other's pools, free of charge?
b) It looks like the Palazzo pools don't get any sun until later in the day? Any tips on which pool(s) get the sun in the morning (we're early risers!)
If I remember correctly, the pools on the Palazzo side are shaded in the morning, until about 10 or so and the sun gradually covers the pools as it continues to rise above the towers. We were able to use the pools at both, but I can't give you any details about whether or not one gets sun before the other. This picture is of the pool deck at Palazzo and while I can't remember exactly when it was taken, I know it was before lunch, and probably before 10:30am.
Palazzo's pools are close to the building (and it's tall) and due west of it, so they don't get sun until later in the morning. Venetian's pools are further away from the building and mostly not directly in it's shadow anyway.
Go to Google maps and do Earth View and zoom in and you can see. The shadows in the current image put the sun position due south, which means the image was taken around 3:00pm. Mentally rotate the shadows counterclockwise to get an idea what they're like earlier in the day.
