Thanks for replying. Not sure if I would travel all the way to NY for a bowling tournament. Hard enough travelling from Hawaii with my bowling balls. I have a hard time taking my 3 ball bag because (even without my "stuff") it barely makes it under the 50 lb weight limit (my balls are about 15# and over). I usually will bowl if the tournaments are on the west coast or as far in as vegas or reno. But you never know. I visited the NY area when I was a small kid over 50 years ago so maybe I'm bound to visit the east coast again. I did visit DC 4 years ago and I visited the Orlando area over 10 years ago.

Unfortunately since the Aloha Specialties place caters to the Hawaii people it is sometimes hard to understand what the dishes are or what comes with them. In Hawaii it is the norm that the plate lunches come with 2 scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad.

Yeah, I love the oxtail soup. I normally have it at least once when I'm in vegas but I usually try not to eat big meals so late in the night.

I got a good laugh at you with the chopsticks. 15 years ago I had a gf who was from southern Cal. She was living in Hawaii but I had a lot of fun because she had a hard time understanding the lingo (Hawaii people speak what is known as "pigeon English"). People would speak to her in pigeon English and she would look at me with that confused look until I explained what they meant. The first time I became aware of it was when we went out to eat. The chef came by and asked us if our plates were "ono". In Hawaiian that means good. My gf looked confused and the chef looked at her with a strange look and I burst out laughing because she didn't understand what he meant. I had to explain to both of them what happened and they both had a big laugh.

I think my friends have 2 teams, 1 with the 180 and under and the other the next level up. They have plenty under 180 people so not often they need those bowlers.

Our alley in Hawaii is so slow, the oil usually dries up by the end of practice. My main ball I use is a 20 year old Ebonite Matrix Trimax II. It breaks just enough with the small amount of oil plus I have an excuse for bowling low. I still win my share of pots and doubles action. When I go to vegas or the west coast to bowl I use a storm Sync that breaks a lot more. In fact lately when I travel I just bring 2 balls and use the other slot to hold my kit and shoes and other stuff. Bowling is kind of dying in Honolulu. Lots of alleys closed down so there are only 2 or 3 public alleys and a number of alleys on the military bases. I only bowl once a week and don't practice so it's hard to keep a high average.

It was very good... but it wasn't creamy. The cheese wasn't that ooey-gooey, comfort level of melty goodness. This was more like actual cheese that was melted and clung to the noodles. Again, it tasted very good, but if you are expecting a decadent, smooth, creamy mess, you'll be disappointed (until you try it).
