Looks like it's not happening, says Allentown Morning Call newspaper. Haven't given a reason but it probably has to do with talk of gambling expansion in PA (airports, online, and fantasy leagues).

I was so looking forward to collect points with my home casino.

@Daani Is the Sands your home casino?
I've been there a few times when visiting my sister in Bethlehem - nice casino! My dad used to work on that original site when Bethlehem Steel was still in operation, oops that really confirms I'm older than dirt....

Any local scuttlebutt on what happens next with Sands?

I no longer live in Pennsylvania, but I'm glad that this deal fell through. By gaming revenue, the Sands and MGM National Harbour generate roughly the same amount. They would be the 2nd and 3rd largest casinos in Atlantic City behind the Borgata. I think it is for the best if one company does not own all three of the premier casinos in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Yup, we are less then 5 minutes away from it. Wish I knew why the deal fell through. We moved here almost a year ago but we don't get to hear much gossip.

Hard to believe probably but we only go there about every six to eight weeks. We travel lot's and Las Vegas about two three times a year.

Yes, what happens next to Sands? Years ago I used to frequent it, but then they opened those racinos nearer to Manhattan and they are more convenient for a quick slot fix than that long excursion to Bethlehem. Sands does have more interesting "Class Vegas" VP machines (the VP machines at the racinos in Yonkers and Aqueduct are not what to me is "the real thing"). At one time one of the STP machines at Sands had 9/6 JB, that was great (well, not great, fabulous these days), and I would still be frequenting that casino if they had kept that game in that machine, but have not visited in maybe a year. Maybe I should be back before the summer is over and check out if they have anything decent in one of their VP machines. One can dream. :)
