My wife and I recently received some free play and a free room in the mail from Chumash Casino near Solvang, Ca. It's about a 3 hour drive with a stop at Splash Cafe in Pismo for a grab and go.
We got there and it was a little too early to check-in, so we burned through our Free play in about an hour, $75 for me, $50 for her. Then we checked in. Lounged in the room for a bit before heading down to the buffet for dinner. Chumash has one of the best buffets. Instead of a themed night that most California Casinos go with, they keep theirs the same every night. So eventually they got everything right.
After dinner we went back to play on our own dime. Not too many hits between the 2 of us. Just 2 for me and nothing for the anchor, I mean darling wife. (Usually, I'm the anchor)
Played a little Zeus at 40 cents a pull. Got a bonus and ended up the 3 full lines of wild and 3 full lines of one of the higher paying symbols. Cashed out $510.
Then went and played nickel Ultimate X. Got this kick in the nuts.
The 10 of clubs would have paid $1600.
About 30 minutes later on the same machine. I was dealt trip Aces and had a 12X on one line. I stood and begged for the 4th Ace. Got more.
Ace with the kicker on 12X. Instant hand pay.
The rest of the night we spent giving a good chunk back but managed to keep in the black. Slept in late this morning (noon check out), had a great breakfast in downtown Solvang. For those of you in California especially southern and central, who have never been to Solvang, go. You wont regret it.
