Expanding the list of casinos I've been to on my next trip, we will probably have time to visit Orleans or Gold Coast but maybe not both. I was wondering what people's opinions were about the casinos, particularly craps, blackjack and slots. Also, how "lively" they are. Thanks,

    Bob

    Craps. Orleans, hands down.

I think the BJ dealers at Gold Coast are friendlier.

    Hey Now!
I play at both. The Hippie Pit at Gold Coast rocks on the weekends. Nice swag too.
Same for the Mardi Gras Pit at Orleans.
Great VP and crews at damn near all of the Orleans bars.

I've been frequenting both places for a long time, and the fact that many locals do too ought to tell you something! From rules, limits, friendliness, easy-to-get comps, and value, what's not to like?

Vp is easier to find at netter pay tables. I like the craps at Orleans with the buy hard ways that only expire on the "7". However Gold Coast has side bets for number of rolls for 2-12 except 7 which is a fun 10$ bet (1$ each). Both properties employees are great customer service representatives. You cannot go wrong at either.
If you go to Gold Coast first it is a short ride to Orleans on the shuttle. A little longer the others way. Good luck

From a slots perspective, Orleans is better. It's bigger so they have more to offer and it's livelier too. But I am happy playing at either. I think my track record at Gold Coast is slightly better than Orleans but not by much.

For craps I really like the Orleans. Friendly dealers, TV's in the pit (if there's a game you are interested in). One non smoking table. Gold Coast craps dealers are not real good, both in attitude and ability.

On craps l concur that Orleans is a better experience. The dealers spend a lot of time talking among themselves and I usually join in. It's been a few years since I've played at Gold Coast, but it seemed like no matter how long I played at a table the box man was just waiting to call me on a short roll. Geez, sometimes it just happens.

Gold Coast has Ping Pang Pong, the walnut prawns are worth the trip to Vegas.

The Gold Coast smells like death as every other gambler inside the casino is connected to a respirator or oxygen tank. The only use the gold coast has is for its inexpensive liquor store on the property. Other then that, they should take a wrecking ball of at least a Lysol bomb to that stinky place.

This is true, but also may be one of the reasons I always pay a visit when I am in Vegas, it's smokey and gritty...I enjoy it :)

Ya. I play at MMS. took them up on free rooms at GC. It's ok if your a low roller. But I like to play Craps ,VP and $1 & $5 slots. There's like 5 one dollars slot machines in the whole place. But they have a nice sports book & low limit Baccarat. Great VP that they have $1 machines, .25 , .05 And like others said dealers there are a little annoying. I would go again only for a couple of hours for VP. I wouldn't stay there again.

The buffet at MSS is better than that of Orleans. Also, if you're a BJ player you can DAS at Orleans (on the lower minimum tables) where you can't at MSS. I like both places, in fact MSS is a very nice casino and as mentioned above Orleans has a decent sized pool. There are nicer places in Vegas but there are also certainly worse places as well.
