    My Trip Report

This is my first trip report, so be patient and kind.
Subjects: The Kid=me, Trophywife(TW)=obviously my wife.
    Dates: Oct 17-22
Travel package: Delta vacations via Expedia
    Price: $1150 and change
Extras: $25 shop and shuttle to Outlet mall in Primm for TW

We breezed through check in. Flight from Bangor to Cincinnati smooth except we had Flemmy McLung sitting behind us and “LOOK at US†were lesbians in front. Now I’m not anti-lesbian, but hate the type of people who have to make it known to all, in the hopes somebody will say something, just so they can come up with some sort of “you’re a homophobe†remark. Anywho, back to the trip.

Arrived at the Mecca, got luggage no problems. Went to the Las Vegas Limo stand to get our $9 shared limo, but they don’t do that anymore, had to settle for the shuttle bus. Got to The Orleans about 2pm. Guess I should have read the “Getting Around†threads more carefully!

Check in was easy and fast. I had pre-ordered Champagne and flowers for TW. Get up to room no flowers, I call the bell desk they said “oops†be right up. TW goes to the Salon for a new hairstyle. 45 minutes later, no flowers. I call the bell desk again they said “oops†be right up. Finally get TW’s flowers. I get in a couple of football bets and make reservations at The Prime Rib Loft.

TW loves her new do and were off to the casino! Buy-in at the craps table for $100. One minute later I’m down $60. I got the “UhOh†face on and get out. Next DD BJ (3:2) 45 minutes later I’m down $200. The “UhOh†face has transformed into the “Oh S__t†face.

Dinner at the Prime Rib Loft was excellent and reasonably priced, service was very good.
A few after dinner slots and off to bed, still on East coast time. ( I won my football bets!)

Wake up way too early, go down to The Courtyard Café. Graveyard special 2 eggs, sausage, homefries, toast, juice and coffee $1.99 that’s a win in my book. Service excellent.

While waiting for the shuttle bus to the Barbary Coast, I try Multi Strike video poker, which I learned about on this site, cashed out $200 up!! Thank you T2V. We take the shuttle to the strip. I drop TW off at the MGM to catch her Shop and Shuttle to Primm. I wander up to the Luxor for some hold-em. First time hold-em player so I play tight, break even. I entered the noon tourney. I didn’t finish last is the best I can say about that. On the way back to the MGM a guy slides out from behind a cement wall and starts to follow me. Very few people around and I’m thinking OK here we go. I’m carrying a beer bottle, so I turn it around in my hand from sipping mode to baseball bat mode. He stops following me. Score one for Vegas’s open container law! Back to The Orleans for MNF.

Tuesday, we make our way to the Peppermill for breakfast, on Hurricane Mikey’s suggestion. Long freaking walk from Barbary Coast. Good food, good price, poor service, small tip. We decide to take the 301 bus back. 30 minutes later and two busses of “full†we take the walk. Stopped at Jimmy Buffets for souvenirs and a margarita. Cool place but the drinks way over priced. TW and I had to make at pit stop at the Stardust, what a dirty place, do they even have a custodial staff? Toured the Aladdin, Venetian and Bellagio. We went to the Monet exhibit, now I’m far from a lover of fine art, but I really enjoyed this. The taped narration you can use was great. Off to the Barbary Coast for “Big Elvis†I learned of Big Elvis from this site and I have to say thank you. Everyone must go see this show. No way to describe it. It’s a have to see to believe sort of thing.
We go back to The Orleans where TW does well at nickel VP. We drink champagne, drink many beers and watch the baseball playoffs on the big screen, life is good!

Wednesday, 50 hand VP is paying out today! Up a $110 or so TW is hanging on. For lunch we meet the Clark County Fire Marshall, he had sent up a bottle of Champagne yesterday, we treat for lunch. Brendan’s Irish Pub doesn’t serve meals, just snacks, so we buffet it. He has a ton of great stories and knows everybody. Before we part he says he has a sure winner for us. He says put $21 in the Megabucks slot, 7 pulls, I guarantee you will win. (Yeah right!) He can’t stay to watch, something about being in uniform and gambling. We say our good byes and decide it’s only $21. I go first …nuts. TW’s turn, spin.spin, $120 win [IMG] Wednesday is going well. More VP, a little BJ, a little up, a little down. Hold-em a couple of hours , even. Now it’s VEGAS time. Drank the champagne, drank the beer, TW does very well a VP and a few slots. I’m even money wise but getting a little uneven in the sobriety category. ‘Bout midnight I end up at a Pai Gow table. I’m thinking OK genius, it’s a push game, minimum is $5, and beer is free! I can do this. Two hours later I’m whooping it up with three guys from the Singapore Air Force and a little Asian kid who can’t be more than 14. My betting has increased to $25 to $125 a hand, and I think they may be out of beer. 4 am I stumble upstairs, I’m up $200. Vegas Baby!! [IMG]

Thursday, don’t feel so good :( . I meet with the host, who pushes me off to the slot host. Liz comped some off our bill ;) . Pai Gow pit boss had comped us breakfast [IMG] Slot manager Mike comped us dinner [IMG] Comp from poker room paid for a nice snack [IMG] I’m very happy but still don’t feel so good, might have been the last 6,7,8 beers. Multi hand VP is draining my account, VP losing, Multi-Strike VP loser. My “Uh Oh’ face is returning. TW wants to try the quarter Wheel of Fortune, I figure what the hell I want to spin that wheel once. Nope, $40 into a $100 no spins, guy next to me spins every other one, TW spins, any spins for The Kid NO. Then a couple of symbols line up and they guy next to me goes “holy –it†I’m clueless, but when the credits stop I’ve won $500!!! I’m feeling much better. An hour later TW gets a $300 dollar hand pay on a progressive nickel VP!! I get a Royal on Multi hand for a few extra! TW gets a couple Royals!! I hit a nickel Red, White and Blue for $60 Hold-em down bout $50. The Kid doesn’t drink today We played and played for the rest of the day.

Final gambling tally TW EVEN The Kid down only $100

Final thoughts The Orleans is great, not too crowded, not too noisy, friendly, great drink service, very clean, great security. This will be the place we go back to. TW says the prices at the outlet mall weren’t much of a deal. I had a funny hooker sighting but I’ve droned on for too long. Thanks to all on this site you guys really made our vacation a great one!!!

I have to go with the peer pressure crowd here and ask for the hooker story. You know I'd share mine if I had one...

Ok Ok, I’ll tell the hooker story, but now I feel the build up is too much and you’ll be disappointed.

I’m walking toward the hallway that leads to the elevators; I pass a couple when I hear the gentleman of the two say “Yeah I bet it’s his daughter†This catches my attention. Ahead of me is a white male approx mid 60’s, a little overweight, hunched shoulders and greasy hair (what was left of it), with him was a young thin, black lady wearing the requisite
Leopard print dress, a few out of place accessories and clear heels. Now I’m no expert on hookers, but I was pretty sure that might be one.

I don’t know what made me notice this, but this girls hands seemed quite large for such a small frame and the fingers were long, like NBA long. That’s when it hit me , OH MY GOD it’s a DUDE!! And the John doesn’t know.
