So it's really a can't lose decision but I'm asking those in the know

I can take the 2night Orleans deal, the 2 night MyVegas Monte deal, or pay short money for Palms.

All include free breakfast. I have stayed at the Off-Strip joints previously but not MC yet. I have stayed at 34 Vegas casino hotels and have the bizarre quest to get to 50. Especially enjoy staying at places named after cities (strange, I know) and MC will be changing its name shortly. This should not be the determining factor.

Thanks in advance for your comments/observations

Personally, I'd do MC 11 times out of 10 on location alone.

If you haven't stayed at MC yet then I would do that. I don't mind the casino and the location is great. It's an easy indoor walk to Aria, too.

If you're looking to just gamble for two days and don't care if you ever leave your home base then I would do Orleans.

If you have stayed at 34 Vegas hotels, most of the advice anyone can give does not apply.

    Usual advice might include:
    location
where you play and not play
where you like, don't like food
Style - basic place vs fancy place

I assume you have visited all of the places on your list.

If you have stayed at the other two places and want something new (or old-lol).... then go for MC.

If you're a strip person I'd go with Monte. It's a decent location and easy to get to nyny and Aria if you don't want to gamble there.

MC for sure! If resort fees add up to a significant difference with Orleans, than Orleans (and if you're renting).

Orleans for free since it will be entirely free! They don't charge resort fees on comps.

I like Monte Carlo but when was the last time they updated that place? Sorry but the location and potential resort fees isn't enough to make me take an aging room over a hotel that's updated it's whole inventory.

Palms - have no opinion on the hotel but it's not free. I don't know of any selling points that would make paying for it worth it.

MC is undergoing a major renovation so it may have a lot of closures etc.

This is just not a simple answer. Your interests are what should drive your decision. MC is the only one of your choices on the strip. It is undergoing major renovations as stated earlier. It has poor BJ rules, bad VP options, and a good steakhouse, but so so other food choices.

The Orleans offers great BJ rules, many decent food options, and is a haven for VP players because of the pay tables. No where as new as the other two choices, but certainly a good choice if clubbing is not your thing, and you don't mind being off srip. I'd call the Orleans more of a "locals" type atmosphere.

The Palms is newer, has decent BJ rules, some ok VP pay tables and caters to a younger crowd.

    Choose wisely grasshopper.

MC Steakhouse is closing May 11 FYI.

As for "always choose strip", I'm the opposite. I always choose off strip. Stay on the strip once or twice so you can tell people you've done it and after that it's so much better off strip. Cheaper, better gambling, less crowded. It's easy to get to and from the strip if there's a show you want to see or a restaurant you want to go to. I'd recommend the strip for seniors that have a hard time getting around perhaps. That's what I did last year when I was with a group that included some in their 70's and 80's.

To each their own, there are many who will always stay on the strip. YMMV.
