Id fall over dead if they were at some type of capacity---just show up and try your luck. You probably wont get to the hotel til 1230-1 anyways which isnt a massive leap from 4pm---my bet is theyll let you check in early.

Few years back I went to check in at Gold Coast shortly before 1. The hotel clerk told me she couldn't check me in until 1 without the fee. I went and played a machine close by and at exactly 1 went back to the counter. My time was off something like 3 minutes to the hotels time and she said we had to stand there and wait another minute until they showed 1 o'clock too. I was under the impression that the system wouldn't let her do it without the fee otherwise.

And yes, Gold Coast charges $15 per visit now, not daily.

Edit...yup, referring to the previous post about refrigerator. :D

    I would think so.

Since you are only checking in early ONE time (today), there would no logic to charging based on the number of days you are staying. After all, there is no checkin on the 2nd day - right?

The per stay was in reference to a refrigerator.

I just came back from The Orleans. Checked in at 1pm no problems, no fee.

we were just there in June - they let us check in at around 10am - no extra charge. if there are rooms cleaned, I think they will give you a room - just ask

I meant the refrigerator was $15 per stay and not per day. Sorry for the confusion.

Try traveling in Europe. Check-in is at 3:00pm across the continent. Don't even THINK about asking to be let into your room at 2:55 (I've tried on several occasions). 3:00! Doesn't matter that you didn't sleep all night because you were on a plane that landed at 7:30am.
