Tourist
Just got in tonight, had dinner with my kids and everyone is settled down. Thought I'd do the TR and then go to bed to get some much needed sleep.
We flew out on Allegiant - LOVED the price of the flight, flight crew was attentive, and flight was on time. Plane was very comfortable, but needed to be cleaned. We will definitely fly Allegiant again! We took our bottles of water, and just didn't buy the snacks. And, the gate we came in was a lot closer than United usually is so we didn't have to make the long trek just to get to the tram.
Taxi cost us $21.00 with a $3.00 tip. There was a lot of traffic/construction on Tropicana and we hit every light. This is the most I've ever paid for a taxi from the airport.
We arrived at the Orleans and checked in. I didn't even attempt the $20 trick, as we were comped for 2 nights already, and I didn't think we had a chance of anything better. I guess I should have asked for a view. We had a room that showed a nice chunk of the roof, part of the pool, and part mountains. But, we've had a strip view room so many times, it didnt' matter. Plus, we had a pretty good view of a buffed man in his speedo on a mattress in the pool the next morning. As usual, the beds were very comfy. They're a little skimpier with the toiletries these days.
We met up with a friend who flew in from CA and stayed up all night long! We didn't go to be until 6:30 a.m. I haven't done that since I was in high school. We had a lot of fun. She played BJ, my sister and I played roulette. We all lost, and lost, and lost.
There are a lot of new dealers at the Orleans! It seems like they've lost 3/4 of the dealers that were there last year.
We played roulette for hours. A couple of hours play on $5-$10/spin is plenty for a buffet comp. There were 3 of us and it was no problem when we asked the floorperson.
Some highlights of the trip:
Big Elvis- we always see him, and always enjoy the music while we are at BC (Bill's).
There was some awards ceremony at the Orleans last night. One of the girls said it was the EZ? awards? What a great place to people watch. Based on what the women were wearing, it was either an exotic dancer or porn star award show. There were more implants in the building than we'll probably ever see again. I've never seen so many busty, bleached blondes. I'm glad my husband wasn't along. Even my sister and I couldn't resist staring at the outfits and the 5 inch heels.
It was pretty entertaining.
I found out today that the Orleans offers hotel guests 1/2 hour free internet access per day in the business center. I wish they had told us when we checked in. The last 2x I've paid for it and didn't have to.
We played craps until the minute we walked out the door. Lost again, but boy did we have fun!
Overall, we lost more money than we ever have, but we had a good time and that's what counts.
I'll try to add more tomorrow. I need to sleep.
