Alright all, I'm exactly one week out from my next trip to Vegas. It will be my third of 2021 and hopefully the third of four (if I don't decimate my bankroll and/or my liver on this trip).

I'll start the TR next week, but thought I'd post a prep thread.

Currently, on my to-do is the following:

Movies I will watch this week:
    Vegas Vacation
    The Hangover Unrated
    Think Like a Man Too
    Last Vegas
    Paul Blart 2
    21 (maybe)
    Casino (maybe)
    Mississippi Grind (maybe)

I know a lot of these movies are terrible but they are kind of Vegas traditions.

    Putting Together Playlist
My playlist has everything from country to rap and r&b to classic and modern rock and more. I'm looking for ideas of songs to add. Please throw them out there

Obviously the usual - packing, etc.

But curious what other things I should do to get myself hyped - any movie/song/tv show suggestions?

    Thanks!!!

    You're good to go!

    Looking forward to the TR.
    Good Luck!

Time up Con Air on the plane, so you are landing as they crash land on the Vegas Strip?

Fingers crossed I don't have to cancel at the airport again....

Not on your list (or anyone elses) but is currently avail on HULU (because I just watched it) is Saved By The Bell Wedding in Las Vegas---its filmed on location at the original Sahara in 1994. Better yet, there are some fun chase scenes on foot thru Fremont St---lots of older school (is mid 90s old school?) shots of Fremont casinos, etc. For nostalgia purposes and to pick out a plot hole every 25 seconds, I do recommend watching it.

I've never seen it despite growing up during Saved By the Bell's Heyday. I'm adding it to the list!

Its a 4 part series, each 30 mins--most of the best Vegas scenes are the last two episodes however since you grew up on SBTB (as did I) I recommend watching all 4.

Is it available for streaming anywhere? I feel like SBTB has to be SOMEWHERE right?!

    A week out?

You're gonna need to get hammered drunk. Think of it as a test run for your liver.

Just my opinion. And so we're clear, I am not a doctor.

I guess I’ll be the un-fun one and say, as you’ve clearly gone to Vegas quite a bit, just do whatever worked before. I typically check VMB more and get updates as I can, so while I suppose I get the whole build up thing, it gets more fun for me when I’m finally at the airport. I try to just get a lot of shit done before fixating on my trip so I can enjoy the trip more and leave work/other stuff back home to the extent possible.

The only real problem I see is you’re apparently watching Paul Blart 2, but only possibly watching Casino, the latter of which is one of the objectively best movies of the mid-90s whereas Paul Blart 2 is one of the worst movies in the last 10-15 years probably. Hell, I have non-Vegas friends who like the movie Casino, just an iconic picture and hell of a cast, so I would swap those two out. Mississippi Grind is also a solid, albeit newer gambling movie, at least as far as I’m concerned.

I'm two days out from my next trip. In addition to reading VMB, I've been watching countless Vegas videos on YouTube. I actually added a Korean BBQ/Sushi restaurant (Biwon Korean BBQ) to my to do list for next week after watching a few review videos on Youtube

I do not disagree with your movie assessment at all. Casino is one of my all time faves. I tend to watch comedies before Vegas... not sure why. Casino is a go to movie for me year round. The crap I listed are really only prevegas.

When I was single or married with a vegas travel partner this was true. Now I leave a wife, 2 bonus kids, dog and 2 cats at home. So I'm coming back to a messy house no matter what lol.

Only thing I'm doing different this time, just in case it matters, is, I have a small whiteboard that for the last 2 or 3 years has been a Vegas packing checklist with a few items being added or removed over time. I added my vaccination card to the list last night. I have no current plans where it would currently matter, but never know what will change when.

Me too, I love coming back to a tidy house with fresh sheets and towels, but for some reason I never manage and return to a place where it looks like a bomb has exploded.
