I went to Primm to see Olivia Newton John this Saturday. At Whiskey Petes prior to the concert I was playing a nickel Double Diamond machine (with free spins) and had a pretty good run and had (read “hadâ€) $150. But the man next to me stole my Mojo cause he kept touching my leg with his knee “FREAKâ€. I HATE that, unless I invite it of course. So I eventually put it all back in (I only started with $20) and we had dinner and headed to the concert. I was there about 30-40 minutes and right when I get up to leave the freakin’ cocktail waitress comes by. Darn it! But I had sent my sister to the bar a couple times to get drinks so I had my own personal cocktail waitress.
ONJ was great. We actually had seats in the center of the theater, which is unusual for us. Normally we are within a few seats of the stage. Apparently she has a big following and they bought all the good seats before the host hooked us up. Oh well it was still great seats though.
She opened with “I honestly love youâ€.
I walked up to the stage to take pictures and I guess it was alright to take 1 picture but when I snapped 3 pictures in a row and was heading back to my seat, the “Camera ****†was coming after me. He never said anything I think he was just going to tell me to return to my seat. So I told my sister she had to go take the next couple of photos. She also was sport enough to go up to the Camera **** and tell him “hey, my friend thinks your cute can I take your picture Granted, she failed to mention this to me so he was staring at me for the next few minutes before we left the theater. Then she came back to the chair snickering how he would never know that tomorrow he would be on the internet. How sad…just for doing his job…So here he is:
She sang a few of her hits and then she sang “Physical†but she wasn’t very physical during it. She sat on a barstool and kinda did it a cappella. She just had a light sound of guitars and just a little symbol from the drummer. She has a great voice so she doesn’t need music but I expected her to get “physicalâ€.
BUT then she busted out the leather jacket and she sang “You’re the one that I want†from the movie Grease. They even did the dances like the movie. It was great. Although the guy accompanying her was NOT John Travolta, he did his best…it’s just not the same.
After she wrapped up that one on went her Pink Ladies jacket and they did “We’ll always be togetherâ€, another from Grease.
The next day I hit for $60 on a Blazing 7’s machine so I cashed out and took that with me. I didn’t get pictures of the rooms because we weren’t going to spend the night but BIL was on a roll at the craps table so we had to check in and buy toothbrushes and stuff at the gift shop (that’s not the first time that’s happened either).
I met a tattoo artist visiting from Texas and going to a interview in LV. At least that’s what I think he said. Got his card and next time I need some “ink†I’ll give him a call. He showed me his portfolio and he had some nice work. He also showed me some he did on his leg. Nice guy hope he gets the job, I sure could use my own personal tattoo person in LV.
Chatted with the Primm shuttle driver that grew up in Pasadena and moved to LV. She was cool and when I realized I had lost my cell phone she radioed security (although they never found it). I found it at the bar that I was at earlier and met a great bartender (again). Had a good time and got home last night about 9pm.
