Scary stuff. I was just there a few hours ago. Lots of security around. The perps must have followed that guy to his room. Hope he recovers well. Getting beat up when you're in your 70s is bad thing.

I just read the story, the perps were caught at Resorts. Harrahs security advised all of the other casinos about these two guys, cameras are everywhere.

Every casino-hotel in AC needs to do what they do at Borgata. They have security posted at every hotel elevator and they check people's hotel room keys before allowing them to enter the hotel. Makes it a lot safer to play there.

I wish all hotels would move back to checking keys at the elevator. Palms does it, but only at night. Just as easy to follow someone to the room in the afternoon.

Did these assholes really need to beat a 70 yr old man to rob him?!

    That's horrible :(

I noticed that Venetian does a card check all day during my last trip. I don't think Planet Hollywood checks...ever? I don't recall Caesar's checking, but it's been a few years since I've stayed there.

These guys were not locals, and were not from the same area. Makes you wonder what exactly happened. I remember some hotels requiring keys to be entered in the elevator, but latecomers were usually helped out, so that is not a fail safe system by any means.

After thinking about this, it's peculiar that harrahs thought to alert the other casinos and that the perps were at Resorts. And the bail seems on the low side for this type of crime. And the perps are old to be pulling off this type of crime.

Just got back from Harrahs AC,naturally nobody said anything about this. I have seen security checking room keys when the Pool Club is open at the Waterfront elevators. Place was packed yesterday, hallways in WF tower were filthy,I dropped some change out of my pocket in a chair in room. Mrs. looked under the chair and found somebodys flip-flop.
Shame about this poor guy ,glad they caught those shitbags.

I'm going on Friday, so if I win something I'm going to be extra careful going back to my car. Also, I am a black belt in taekwondo, so if someone tries to jump me, I am going to gleefully beat them to a bloody pulp.
