OK, what would make you buy chips?

OK, so I have the ear of Playstudios marketing, but this is not an official survey by any means.

Keep in mind that Playstudios IS a business, and they exist to make money, which they do by selling chips.

There ARE people do not and will not, for any reason, buy chips. That's OK. But this isn't for you.

But, for those of you that do buy chips, what would enhance the chance of you buying chips?

    1) An increased number of rewards that you could purchase at one time?
    2) Changing the 2 for 1 to 50% off? I know that this would make it attractive to me, since many times I go solo.

Other suggestions appreciated. Again, please keep in mind that Playstudios is a business, and the people that they offer comps for are PARTNERS, and Playstudios has no association with them other than that.

An abundance of guacamole is the main reason I would buy chips.

Aside from that, I would probably buy MyVegas chips if the rewards were trending upward instead of downward. I stopped playing the game a long time ago after playing it hard and never missing the daily spin for months and months and months. If there was an incentive like being able to ignore the mandatory hotel stay to use a buffet or slotplay reward, or ignore the mon-thurs restrictions, there'd be way more reason justify buying chips. I don't think that's asking too much.

    I'm mainly a CET player.
So for that reason I would need an elimination of the MGM stay requirement to purchase chips.

If I am staying at an MGM property then I will likely try to stick to gambling at MGM. So as a business I would say the room comps are very much priority.

I do allready buy chips however in my humble opinion to get others to buy chips or buy more chips and in turn make money from gambling the room comps could open up a little. 3 night weekday comps? Maybe opening up more non busy weekend comps. Im not sure how they work out thier calenders but if they are currently comping nights worth 70% or less of thier max room cost maybe increase it? Im sure they will reap the benefits in return with gambling.

I agree with Welsh Blonde about opening up room comps on less busy weekends, We don’t go to Vegas during the week and the rewards are very limited on the weekends. Hope this helps

Thank you for the replies so far. I told my (myVegas) hosts that since I am a 7* CET player, the mLife rewards aren't that "attractive" to me since I have room and food comps everywhere in the CET system.

I would like to see them open up the comps to other mLife properties like Detroit and some of the newer properties that mLife is acquiring.

If resort fees were waived or covered in the comped rooms. Then the LPs and chips to earn them would seem more valuable. Currently the comped room is more like 50% off of the real cost.

Understanding the situation lets go ahead and get my issues with MGM resorts out of the way so i can answer your question. My issues are three fold.
    1. Ive done the strip twice now. No interest in staying there unless cometely free.
    2. I have to use valet due to mobility issues and they charge for that.
    3. Beating the dead horse of resort fees.

Ive been tempted to buy chips. So here is what would make me pull the trigger.

    1. Blanket resort credit rewards that could be used to pay for the two issues above.
    2. More availability of rewards. The beter ones are always sold out. Why buy chips if no guarantee you will get reward you want.
    3. Offstrip/Downtown partners. They were partnered with Station casinos in the past correct?

Im sure i could come up with more but thats the main issues i have. Hope this helps. Anything to improve the game and rewards.

More rewards like the NFI that's actually a dollar amount voucher with no restrictions
Not such a big leap in spending between 4 rewards and 6
Partnering w/an MLife partner like SW to use LPs for drinks on the flight - since this is about money, they could even limit it to x number of drinks for LPs because more likely than not, people would pay for another drink

I've bought chips in the past, only to get the 4th reward, and to see 2 night room rewards. I would maybe buy chips again if I could have free weekend rewards open up to me (a dream I know), or maybe more pool/cabana rewards, or spa rewards. More rewards like the $50 piano bar credit would be good too. I never played the game when they had the bottle service rewards, so that might work as well.

And yeah, rewards at MGM Springfield once it opens! Can't wait for that!

As mentioned, resort credit. Borgata offered something similar without requiring buying chips, so I'd welcome it for a purpose. I've cleared the 4th MGM reward hurdle, but attaining the next level isn't so defined so give me a reason to spend more. The resort credit would be a reason. I think the "stay required" WAS important, but now as things have evolved you wanna engage folks more in your game and not want to exit. So using freeplay without a stay due to a purchase would be huge.

I've been playing since the beginning and rarely buy chips. I would for a 4th or 5th offer, if I could snag one. I'm a low roller but get free rooms and a small amt of F&B. I always subsidize my F&B with free buffets and free play where I'm staying and don't have a problem with the # of nights. I would love to see an upgrade offer for the hotel, but I know that won't happen. It would be nice not to have to stay at one property to get an award, maybe staying at any MGM property as a requirement. I've been thinking about buying chips to get the 4th offer, but not sure it's worth it.

That being said. For the $20 I've spent over the past 4 years I have have gotten fabulous show tickets, meals and lots of free play. I know the values have gone down, but a few free buffets is still worth to me for some autoplay.

Free rooms are not really valuable to me. I can not use them b2b with mlife offers. I like the spontan 100, get 50 off rewards for luxor and excalibur steakhouse. A fourth reward would do it for me.

If more rewards were actually useful, or at the very least, if it didn't feel like they were making it harder and harder to use. At this point I'm not even sure why I even still play myvegas at all, other than inertia, so I'm certainly not going to give them real money in exchange for maybe some perks at some point, if I'm lucky. Weekend rooms would be highly useful to me, but those are hard to get. Perks redeemable for cash (like freeplay) are also worth it, but not if I have to buy an expensive hotel room in order to use them (I'd rather wait until I could stay for free, or barring that, stay somewhere cheaper). Also if free rooms were actually free rather than 40+ bucks, that might help too. At this point, though, I already have way more LP than I'm likely ever even going to use. I was originally saving up so I'd have enough to snag one of those free cruises, except I didn't realize at the time, actually getting one is basically like winning a raffle, in that they drop like one or two in at a random time, so you almost certainly won't ever see one not sold out even when they do show up, even if you have enough LP for them. So I suppose another thing might be, more big-ticket items I might actually care about, that don't immediately get sold out and never come back.

    Dai,

I am mostly a CET player (only Diamond, but gets resort fees waived on comp rooms), and very new to myvegas. So far have only purchased the small dollar "first one is almost free" mega offers. I believe the comps already raised by earlier posters would help, as might an expansion of the number of rewards which could be purchased for a short period. I.E, buy $25 in chips and get 4, buy $50 and get 6, but only for the next 30 days. If I had a trip coming up, I might then justify the spend on adding some comps, while continuing the daily grind in other months. Likewise, a reward that allows for either free or discounted parking or resort fees would seem to be very popular. If you made the spend on that higher, say $100 over the course of 12 months, then Playstudios could justify paying the fee(s) themselves.

    Thanks for being an envoy.

Simple and easy. I’d buy chips if the rewards were better for me to spend my bought chips on turned lp. Such as no resort fee or not needing to stay at a mgm property to use a buffet pass. Or I’d definitely buy chips if free rooms were given on Friday or Saturday then. You’d have me spending my cash

If they're not waiving fees on comp rooms from average gamblers, I doubt they're going to waive them for myVegas rooms.

I do like NCpoker's suggestion that we can basically buy reward expansions with certain packages. That's a great idea. I also think they need a mid-level bridge between the VIPs with high LP amounts and the average player, i.e. the ones who have amassed millions but don't spend a ton. It would be nice to buy a package that would give me access to worthy rewards, like a 2 night comp with resort credit and freeplay for 400K, for example. I'm at a point where I have zero incentive to play more or buy chips, other than just because. I still love using my rewards, and did so last month, but as of today I'm at 1.4M waiting for the post-July 1st rewards to open up for Borgata.

Maybe if you could use chips to also buy rewards as well but. Maybe set the use of chips on rewards. At a really high price if some people see a shortcut to rewards to may. Have them buy chips I know I’d do it

Being able to get 5/7 day stay rewards, even if they're quite expensive. Or probably easier to get Sun-Thurs.

I've used up most of the 4m I had left this summer, but would likely maintain level 7, if something like that were available.

I've been playing for almost 4 years. I didn't initially buy chips and would hover around 200k in LP's and then spend about 120k each trip. I bought once suitcase a couple years back for $5 just to build up my LP's a little more as I was going to Vegas more.
I built up my LP's to about 400k and then got a free bonus to about 800k. Built that up to about 1.5M LP's. Didn't really find very many rewards that I wanted (sometimes didn't even use 3 a trip). Mainly use them for FP as I got comped rooms.

I did recently buy more chips. Reason 1) get a 4th reward 2) get some 2 comp nights when my Mlife offers drop during some parts of the year 3) with the LP's I have the value of the rewards i could get make the calculation of cost/benefit better

I don't think I would buy any more, but the one thing that would have made me think about it more previously and maybe now would be if PlayStudios would be more upfront about how much is required to get the extra rewards and what extra rewards you would be able to obtain. I was hesitant to spend any at first (not knowing exactly what it would mean or how much it would take). I'm definitely hesitant about spending any more without knowing what I would get extra and how much if would take.
