Trips to Las Vegas
100
As you may (or may not) recall, in September, I took a couple of short/no play trips, just to accumulate promo chips for 2017. I had been waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it finally did. More on my "recovery plan" after I describe how much my offers decreased.

At Reno/Tahoe, I had been consistently getting $280/$250 in FP/Promo chips, along with $125/$100 in food (dining voucher).

My offers stayed the same for October and November, but my December offers have decreased to $200/$150 and $100/60 for food. Will need to check my FP

With the exception of the November 4th trip (which is still weather dependent), I am pretty much done with Reno/Tahoe for the remainder of 2016. My recovery plans so far is:

I made a 3500TC weekend trip to Tahoe last weekend.

I will try to do 3500TC the weekend of November 4th and distribute the play across Reno/Tahoe..

I know that I am a little bit :"protected" by my 7* status and my prior play, but just to let you know how short/no play trips can affect FP/dining offers.

You're not at all protected by your tier status. If you stiff you will get cut off, if you short play, your offers will go down. Period. You are only protected by your prior play for as long as the time period you played in is relevant to current offers. CET looks at 6 month, 12 month, and 24 month ADT/MDV.

It doesn't sound like your offers dropped that much. Did your host say anything?

Actually, no, but I kept telling him "It's been a bad year", I think he knows, but since I put in 3500TC last weekend, things should be picking up . . . .

Is that before or after the added bonus?

MDV is for that market specific. Market Daily Value I believe. That way if you give better play to Lake Tahoe then say Atlantic City they can use it to secure comps upfr or use it against you if you are short playing them.........Rick

I think MDV also factors in things such as dining and other resort spend, whereas ADT is strictly gambling.

I would look bet-wise at what the drop in offers really means. Let's say you bet 30$ each on the 6&8 or play 25-50$ BJ when gambling. How many bets did you lose for the trip? It is either not much or take back a couple of bets over the stay and there you are. I love getting stuff for free but learned (slowly) they are supposed to be servicing you.
Just my opinion with some personal history lol

One normal trip should get your availability calendars back in shape almost immediately. Offers will take longer, but CET generates offers like popcorn.

OK, (he said, pulling his head out of his a**), my December offers went down in Reno, but not appreciably.

From $280 to $240 FP and dinig credit stayed the same at $125.

Question for DaiLun (or other slot players) - are slots that much more fun than other games? Everyone I know plays slots and I'm wondering if I should give them a shot.

Everyone plays their games for a reason that's personal to them.

I play slots because it's the only game in which you can go from "zero to hero" in 6 seconds. I find nothing that compares to the adrenaline rush of hitting a hand pay jackpot.

My BFF (Les), a dedicated craps player doesn't like them because

1)There no strategy (actually, there is, and it's called "finding the right machine")
2)He doesn't take the time to understand what symbols match to what and what combinations trigger a bonus
3)He hasn't hit anything over $200 on a single pull yet.

IMHO, you need to find a game that you find "interesting". I tried to introduce Les to all of the Buffalo games. He is in Las Vegas right now and on the 4th pull, got 4 coins on Buffalo Gold. On the second free game, he got a two gold coin retrigger.. At the end of the bonus round, he ended up with 40x his bet.

You might find one of the "themed" games interesting, like "Game of Thrones", or "Big Bang Theory".

Or, you might find the Silver Strike machines interesting, I have published detailed TRs regarding them.

This is kind of like asking if wine tastes better than beer...totally subjective.

I absolutely prefer slots, and you get much better comps on slots, but it depends on what you like.

Ps I prefer wine to beer:p

And back to the OP, at least they didn't go down a huge amount DaiLun, like Chuck said, they should be back up with one good trip.

Plus, reading your trip report on the comped food stuffing/packing was one of my all-time favorites...so you went down on comps, but gave an epic story!!!! It's one of my favorite trip reports yet!:D

@Multifarious5 - Thank you for the compliments. After my GGWU trip in December, I will be publishing my year end

"7*, was it worth it?" Report . . . stay tuned . . .

Will do D

I'll look for it DaiLun! PS I've packed leftovers before as well, much to the hubby's chagrin! Waste not, want not :D
