    My Trip Report

OK, a preface to my latest trip. The last GGWU booster event of the year.

I am going to make a best effort to stick to my goals this trip. After screwing up the last booster event by not checking the amount that I needed for the second bonus, I have the new numbers firmly in my head.

My BFF has convinced me that 500TC should cover my room. I know that it will have significant impact on my offers, but I am in "capital conservation" mode for my trip to Asia in December.

Restaurants on the list for this trip include:

    Jerry's Nugget (going solo)
Hell's Kitchen (taking my Playstudios host and her boss)
    Magnolia's (QQQQ) for breakfast
Andiamo's (the D) I have $100 there, but not sure if I want to put in the time ($$$)
Silverton (buffet or steakhouse) Steakhouse has a nice "Three Course Finest" for $40. fits my $50 comp nicely. This is where I need to put in some time. $17,000 coin in between now and December to level up.
Bacchanal Buffet (taking a local friend)

I am transitioning over to mLife via Playstudios (I use the term Playstudios to include myVegas, myKonami, PoP Slots and other Playstudios games). As I've said in recent trip reports, the thing that I'm really disliking is feeling as if you "have to play" to make a number. It's similar to playing for comps.

The last trip to Reno/Tahoe I pretty much "destroyed" my comps, but on that trip, I was up over $6,000, so I'm still trying to figure out if I was net "up" or net "down". Net "up" I guess. Keep the money, "comp" yourself.

You see, for me it's not just getting a free room with no resort fee. I like to have a little extra "something" to start off my trip. $300 is the "round number" that I like to have/get, but I realize that the play required to maintain that level of comp is more than what I want to spend.

OK, enough rambling. October is an exciting month for me. I have the following activities rolling into the months of November/December.

    NOTE:
GGWU - Great Gift Wrap Up - CET's Holiday Gift event
HGS - Holiday Gift Shoppe - mLife's Holiday Gift event
Playstudios - The parent company of myVegas, myKonami, and PopSlots - mLife's online presence

Oct 5-8 - Last GGWU booster event
Oct 10 - NorCal CET Asian Marketing dinner - hope to win a raffle prize
Oct 24 - Playstudios Friends and Family event at Park MGM ditto for the raffle there
    Oct 25 - QQQQ - $300 Silver Strike distribution

November 1-4 are the first GGWU/HGS events. I will "only" have 200K GGWU points, but the big news is that I will have 1M HGS points (500K at each event) through Playstudios.

AFAIK, in 2019, 35,000 GGWU/HGS points = $100 in VISA gift cards, or at 30,000 for $100 Free Play.

Let's look at GGWU and HGS separately. The explanation follows.

I consider GGWU my "rebate" for a year's play.

I don't "purchase" any actual items because I live in a metropolitan area where most (if not all) of the items are available in stores, so the "convenience" of paying for them with points is lost on me.

I have scheduled my 7* retreat in New Orleans for January. As you may (or may not know), there are about 50 restaurants that partner with CET and take CET RCs, but at 2:1, which I think is really a "waste" of RCs. So, at GGWU, I take as much as I can in VISA gift cards and use them to pay for any meals in New Orleans. I still have one $100 gift card left from last year's GGWU.

For HGS, I consider this a "return" on my spend with Playstudios. I consider it a "return" on an investment. For $2,000 spend with Playstudios, I will be getting about $6,000 in usuable comps (if I had to play cash value) back from them. I have detailed my strategy on a post on the myVegas forum.

Back to this trip. 500TC a day will be "tough", by "tough", I mean, I can do 500TCs in about 30 min, so this will require discipline, and non-gambling places to go . . . I'm packing my movie gift cards in case I want to catch a movie at the Palms or South Point.

Making my "things to do not gambling at CET" list

    1) El Cortez, 2019 Life is Beautiful blue cap Silver Strikes
    2) Head over to Goorin Bros. to get a pin. Gotta go to Harrah's anyway to take out a marker
    3)Ride a zipline while downtown.
4)Visit the Pinball Hall of Fame (if fully relocated yet)
5)Drive down to Bullhead City and light off fireworks
    6)Go to a gun range

Oh s**t . . . ran out of things to do.

    Have a great time DaiLun.

I too love to make plans before a Vegas trip -- but wind up only doing half of them (rounding up).

We plan to be there. Probably staying on the strip since October weather is dog friendly and if we bring her along I don't have to beg my future brother in law to come watch her.

Good luck and have fun. As for the pinball hall of fame, if you are referring to the reported relocation at some point to the south strip property they bought, that has not happened yet. Or at least as of two weeks ago when I was last year, the old (current) location is still where you go. There was some of the usual turnover in machines you will notice if you go there regularly (including some of the old Disneyland machines that create wax figurines; those brought back a lot of memories), but no signs of a wholesale relocation yet

I am going 5-9. Do I swipe for the booster event or do you need to book under that code?

The booster event you need to book and swipe. The 2X multiplier, you just need to swipe.

Well, it looks like fireworks are out. from the Bullhead City Police FAQ

Are fireworks allowed in Bullhead City?
Per Bullhead City Ordinance, the use of permissible consumer fireworks is only allowed from June 24th through July 6th, and from December 24th through January 3rd.
Fireworks are not permitted in the Colorado River Nature Center.

Did you have a booster offer for GGWU points? If so then you can probably "attach" that to a 7* retreat.

OK, if I decide to take some time off for a movie, which movie?

    Ad Astra or The Joker?

IMHO, the only movies that would warrant "big screen" treatment.

I saw Ad Astra...It was kind of disappointing, in my opinion. Seeing Joker next week.
