    My Trip Report

I am going for a GGWU bonus trip and to make one of the two more trips I need to renew 7*. I "need" to put in a minimum of one 2500TC day this trip, and I'll only be there for two days.

As far a GGWU points, with the 10X multiplier, I should be close to 300,000 GGWU points this year, and with 500,000 HGS points, I'll be "rolling" in gift cards. Christmas shopping is "done".

myVegas is doing HGS again this year, and I'm in on that, except I had to PAY for a room at Excalibur (cheapest hotel that weekend). Oh well, that's for the December trip.

Planned highlights of this trip are dinners at two "new" restaurants (for me):

Koi (dying for some yellowtail), yeah, I know that there's a joke hidden in there that shoulkd be in the "After Dark" section . . . . .
Old Homestead Steakhouse (gonna have the 16 oz. bone-in filet and compare it to Bavette's at Park MGM)

The big one is explaining to a regular person "how" comps work and how she (yes, my new FGF) can't just up and ask me to get her "comp" tickets for XYZ show because she has friends coming into town. I figured something out that should be amenable to both of us.

Also, because she's technologically "challenged" I will be creating a temporary internet connection (I hope) using the Mobile hotspot connection from the TV through her cellphone.

Other than that, probably lunch at Silverton or Harrahs Oyster House, and breakfast at the D grille or Magnolia's downtown.

For travel, I'm using the A-list privileges of same-day standby with no fare increase to take the first flight out Monday morning. I will have a car, so a trip to Laughlin isn't out of the question.

    Wish me luck . . . .

My $25 voucher is only good at Seasons, Sundance, Mi Casa and Twin Creeks.

So, It two or more, Seasons (the Buffet) or Sundance Grill. If solo, and since this is lunch, Twin Creeks (the Steakhouse) is out, so I might try Mi Casa.

OK, so I finished the day. made 2529TC and quit before dinner.

I got into LV at 9AM. I used my "A-list no charge for same day standby" and got bumped from C-52 to A-61 (After all A passengers and before family boarding)

It was a "three hop" flight. San Jose - Las Vegas - Milwaukee - NYC (La Guardia)

Got into LV and got my rental car. The lady at the desk gave me lots of great information about changes going on at Payless Car, not that they've been bought by Avis. Apparently, Avis will be handling all of the "priority" customer, since the Payless system has no way of keeping track of customer preferences. How this will affect pricing wasn't clear, and I wasn't really paying too much attention since I wanted to get my car and get to breakfast.

I met two of my friends at Harrahs. One of them doesn't eat breakfast, so me and my other buddy went out to Silverton to eat breakfast. We had breakfast at the cafe. I had a coupon, as it appears that my $25 food credit had expired the day before.

After breakfast, I sat down to a Willy Wonka "Dream Factory" machine and on the first spin got a bonus that paid $166.00. I gave my buddy back what he had paid for lunch and we left.

Went back to Harrahs and I got my room. A 2Q Suite on the top floor.

We split up and I put a little play in.

So not hand pays, and nothing big

My other friend met up with us and we ate at Fulton St. Food Hall (Gotta use up that $10 food credit for opting out of housekeeping).

After that, my buddy and I went to Fry's because I needed to pick up a Bluetooth mouse. Gee, it feels good to buy things when you're "up". Glad I did, because it wasn't gonna stay that way.

After Fry's, we went to the Forum Shops at Caesars. My buddy went to take care of some business, and I sat down to a new machine which I didn't even take pictures of because it treated me so bad.

So, now at 1000TC and down (but within budget), we went back to Harrahs. It was 1PM and we would meet at ^PM to go to Koi at Planet Hollywood.

I played 100% at Harrahs, just because I didn't want to move. Nothing exciting, and I made my 2500TC day. Time to go to dinner.

Koi is a Japanese restaurant at Planet Hollywood. The menu is all Japanese, and mostly sushi/sashimi. We definitely over ordered, but the bill only came to $220.00 + tip. We split the bill.

    upload_2018-10-1_21-41-46.png

We ordered Edamame and Roasted Shishito Peppers

Popcorn Shrimp, Kumamoto Oysters, and I had a Yellowtail and Scallion handroll

    upload_2018-10-1_21-44-51.png

We were stuffed. I went to Miracle Mile mall to "Basin" a soap shop across from the Original Penguin store and bought some "Christmas" soaps.
    upload_2018-10-1_21-49-28.png

We all separated and I came back to write the TR. It's 10PM now and I've been up since 5AM and didn't get a nap today, so I'm ready to hit the sack.

I will start a movie and pause it so I can finish it tomorrow and not "lose" a movie.

A full day, but I think I'm up to about 300,000 GGWU points, that and 500,000HGS points should make for a Merry Christmas!!!

    Thanks for tuning in.

Oh, and a couple of things I forgot.

    1) There's a flash flood warning for tomorrow.
2)CET must be getting a little "cheap" they didn't have water at the Diamond check-in counter.

    Nicely done @DaiLun !
Yes, Silvteron's food credits are usually for each quarter.
I thought you should have new one for Oct-Dec.
I just don't know what to eat there solo with my $50 voucher.
More then once I just used it at WuHu for just ~$20.

Everything at KOI was EXCELLENT. My new CET go-to Place for Japanese food!!!! The only think that I didn't "like" were the Shishito peppers. I realize that this is the tony thing to order at a Japanese restaurant, but it didn't do anything for me . . . . .

OK, so I decided to do a 2500TC day because the bonuses that they were giving in LV for GGWU (10X GGWU points) were better than what was available in Lake Tahoe at the end of the month.

The day started out rough, and maybe I shoulda quit at 1000TC, but it was 10AM and I had the whole day (and $$$) to kill.

    Some random slot porn:

But, all in all, a losing day. My friends and I caught up and we decided to go to Paris and eat a Yong Kang St., because my 7* friend offered to comp us. (He's a Much higher roller than me and he takes backend comps. I WON'T pay 2:1 to eat a Yong Kang).

OK, now THIS is Dim Sum.

We had clockwise from lower left

    Chicken feet
    Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings)
    Siew Mai (Pork dumplings)
    upload_2018-10-2_13-44-29.png
    Clockwise from upper left

Boneless Spareribs in Black Bean sauce
Xial Long Bao (Shanghai Soup dumplings)
    Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings)
    upload_2018-10-2_13-46-10.png
    We also had

Duck Gon Lo Mien (Duck with pan fried noodles)
Won Ton Mien (WonTon with noodles in soup)

All excellent and a "bargain" at $82 plus tip, however, I would not find it "worth" the premium.

We prepared to come back to Harrahs and I had a minor comeback for the day.
I was playing Buffalo Grand and hit this as my buddy came up - $240.00
    upload_2018-10-2_13-48-45.png
On the next pull I got this for $450
    upload_2018-10-2_13-49-22.png

So, I made a little back. I'm about 200 short of my 2500TC day and I'm gonna take a break. Dinner tonight at Old Homestead with an FGF. 16 oz. bone in Filet Mignon!!!!! Yum!!!
