I got nothin'....
So, let me start this report and say thank you to my friend Jesse. He just had to go and win $18,000 at a local casino play hold 'em and just had to invite his old friend to sin city. What a guy!
I don't know what the deal is with Southwest Airlines, every darn time I fly it my flight is running late. This time the flight was grounded for an hour because some idiot back east decided to cuss out one of the attendants and actually refused to leave the plane when asked nicely. So instead of sitting there for 1.5 hours waiting it was almost 3.
I love landing in Vegas, I have done it NUMEROUS times but I can't ever shake that feeling of the adrenaline rush when you see what is around.
Check-in was smooth, Jesse had got us rooms right next to eachother, but the 2nd room would not be open until later. We packed all of our stuff in one room and went to do some damage. Jesse said he wanted to go downtown and all I could think of was Binions(Thanks, Mikey)... We grabbed a cab and when we got there it was dead. Thursday, 12pm I guess is the ideal time to hit the place if you don't like crowds. Jesse said he was feeling it and I was itchin' to roll, so we found the nearest table. 4 people were there, all playing the don't... We just looked at eachother and smiled. THERE IS NOTHING I LIKE BETTER THAN TO FOOL THE PLANS OF A DARKSIDE BETTOR, quote me on that one...
We sat out until the dice came to Jesse. These fools have won some money playing this way, until now... They were all just putting $50 on the don't and not backing it up. Jesse proceeded to roll 4 7's in a row (I called 2 on the hop.) He finally established the 4 and they all jumped on it with odds thinking he couldn't roll a 4, I did my $44 inside and bought the 10 for $25. Jesse rolled a 10, I pressed to $50 and he rolled it AGAIN! I always love giving the $2 and getting back $100. A couple 5's and 6's on the full press and there it was... A FOUR! They were so mad, and they dealers were trying to keep from smiling, I could tell. They left and a few more "fun" people came, including this one guy who we suspected only knew how to yell. Jesse had a few more points and made some people happy(including us, we were up $400 in thirty minutes.)
I bet green on my roll, thinking I could make a killing on a hot roll. I established the 8, $130 across and picked up the dice. I rolled a 4, 10, 4, 5, 6, and then I FINALLY rolled my 8. And yes, it was hard so that guy on the end SCREAMED "FOURTY-FOUR BABY!!!." He had $10 on the hard eight so I made him happy! I grabbed the dice again and established the 10 and quickly 7'ed out. We were both hungry, and we wanted to get a bite, so we grabbed our winnings and headed out. Not bad for our first hour gambling, but the stomach said we needed some food. Jesse really wanted to try the Rio, and I was wondering about it myself since I haven't been there in awhile. We took a cab there and it was then we decided to rent a car!
The line was okay, we got in and it was actually not bad. I have heard it has declined in quality since the merge with Harrahs, but it was, in my opinion, above average. While we were there, we just HAD to see the craps tables. We put down our passline money and quickly lost it with a 2 being rolled. We looked at eachother and smiled, I knew this wasn't the greatest place to be at this moment. After 3 7 outs in SIX rolls, we RAN. Jesse stopped at a BJ table, I watched as he quickly regained his losses back and I jumped in and got a little back as well...
We got to talking on the way back to the TI and almost totally forgot about the NFL game. I guess gambling can do that to you!
We went to the Bellagio and grabbed a place to sit so we could watch the game and have those WONDERFUL drinks served to us! I love this place... The thing to do is to tip $5 the first time and she will be back quick, trust me. Kelly was her name (I think) and she was a knockout. She was about the only highlight of the game, it was boring. Interesting sidenote: Two NY fans were escorted out after throwing beer bottles on the ground after they lost. I love New Yorkers, such pride in their sports! We played craps there for almost 4 hours after the game, and came out exactly $4 dollars what we bought in for. After all the dealer tips, I think that is great(Heck Yea I would have rather won but...
) Bedtime...
Friday was spent mostly sleeping and swimming, something I NEVER do. It was a lot busier today, all those damn Californians coming in for the weekend..
Played a little here and there, lost a total of $42 bucks for the day. Bedtime!
Saturday we got this GREAT idea to go to the Mandalay Bay and ask a casino host to look at my past play and see if we could get into the pool area without staying there. Before we got to a host, we stopped at the sportsbook to check some lines and sat down for a minute to get a drink. That drink turned into 2, then 4, then??? We were so intoxicated. Before we knew it, it was already time for my Aztecs to play Colorado. Being DRUNK, Jesse and I were ready to put a HUGE chunk on the Aztecs, there was NO WAY State would lose by 28 points. So, we did it... 5 large on the Aztecs. Jesse said if they won he would split with me but if they lost I only had to pay him $1250. To make a long story short and after a lot of yelling and screaming at the Aztecs, they covered. I think they only lost by twenty, but we were like $4700 richer and had a great time talking smack with the CU fans. Jesse went up to collect and walked back. He had this "look" on his face. He said he wanted to throw it all ($9700) on the Chargers. I told him to wait and see if we wanted to do this in the morning when we weren't as drunk. He agreed and we went out to play some craps. It was all $10 tables now and after the big score it seemed like chump change....
The table was full, very good looking crowd who all really knew how to play. Two guys at the end of the table were arguing and trying to out-bet eachother. If one would bet the hard 4, the other would double the bet. It served as good amusement for us all!!! I started betting the "horn high yo" on the come out roll. The guy at the other end thought I was saying "Ohio!" Well, whatever the bet was called, I hit it A LOT! Pressed it a couple times and won HUGE! At one point, I had $50 on there and the aces hit, that was a cool 3 blacks handed to me! That session went very well, no HUGE losses. After about 5 hours, I was up almost $1200 bucks. I asked the pit for restaurant comps for tomorrow and he was more than happy to give them to us. $50 each at House of Blues, and a card for one of the casino hosts was handed to me and we left two happy men! Oh yeah, Jesse made more than I did he was betting BIG. Bedtime...
Sunday I woke up and Jesse calls me and asks me how much I want to put on the Chargers today before we leave. It is 8:30, the game is at 10:00 so I quickly shower and get my stuff ready to go so we can go bet the game and watch it before we have to hit the airport. When we got to the book, Jesse pulled out his wad full of benjamins and asked if I was in. I thought long and hard for almost a minute and agreed. He put $7000 down and I put $4000. This is the second biggest bet ever for me (someday i'll tell you about the 1st!) We watch it and it was quite frankly the GREATEST game I have ever watched... The Chargers had the game in habd the whole time! There was never a doubt that we were going to lose and at the end, we sang the "SAN DIEGO, SUPERCHARGER" all the way to the window. God it feels good to win big... I went to the cashier and had them put most of it into a cashiers check so I wouldn't be holding all that money with me! I suggest that anyway, it makes it to where you can't spend it at the airport when you are waiting for your plane.
Thoughts - TI, okay place! Clean, good maid service, and a decent cafe for those late night snacks...
AZTECS and CHARGERS RULE (That day at least...
)
Go to the House of Blues, you won't be sorry!
My next "planned" trip will not be until March, so I may have to sneak away sometime before that!
